Alex

The tritagonist in my comic strip series "Hoodiemals"

Personality:

Alex is a young, airheaded and naïve axolotl who is usually the first to be curious on anything Pal or Ollie is doing. He lives with his roommates Pal and Ollie in a rented apartment somewhere in the US between the late 2000s to early 2010s.

Although he's a bit slow and falls for the simplest of pranks, Alex still gets a laugh out of them. He acts most like the oblivious but caring mom of the group. Alex is an understanding and empathetic person -- he doesn't always has the wisest solutions, but at least he has a good heart and tries to be helpful. Alex is also very inquisitive and curious, eager to try out new things and experiment with his hobbies! He values admiration and appreciation more than anything!

Alex is more often than not the butt of most of Pal and Ollie's jokes and pranks. He's quite a pushover and is easily prone to Pal's manipulation and condescension, often belittling him jokingly. He has a one-sided relationship with Ollie (Ollie finds him a bit annoying but Alex still likes him), but they're working on it! Alex also acts as a friend and mentor to young Nicki and constantly feeds her cookies. They've developed a bit of a brother-sister bond between one another!

Fun Facts:

• He dropped out of college in his freshman year, making him the only one out of his roommates to have an extended education
• Alex is a huge DND geek, consistently persisting Pal and Ollie to play, who are both not interested in the slightest. His character is a sorcerer and is the biggest edgelord one can ask for. He dresses up as his DND character for Halloween as a handmade costume!
• His favorite food is ice cream, his favorite flavor is vanilla and chocolate chip!
• He's not very masculine, he's a bit of a virgin :V
• Despite his looks and mannerisms, he’s into the edgiest stuff. He’s once believed to have a goth phase back in the day!
• Unlike his roommates, he can breathe underwater but is dryness intolerant (he sleeps in a bathtub full of water since their apartment only has 2 bedrooms)
• Alex speaks with a higher pitched Southern drawl, unironically says "bless her heart" and drinks iced tea
• He's a closeted bisexual (attraction ratio: 75% women, 25% men)
• In his spare time, he's been teaching himself French to talk to a Parisienne barista whom he has a heavy crush on
• He wears merch of his favorite band, Spaghetti, under his hoodie (Spaghetti is a grunge-metal band within this cartoon's universe)

Notes:

A kinda taller, thinner and lankier build, he's a few inches short of 6 feet tall but not crazy huge
His hoodie is light-weight and a bit flexible

You’re free to draw him with pants if you don’t feel comfortable drawing him in the default no-pants look
You can draw him in any of his alternate outfits when seasonably appropriate (except naked, why would you ever want to draw him naked)
Anything with 2000-10's or early internet aesthetic, memes, and references are greatly appreciated too!
