At the start of his journey, he's trapped by Watchmen while searching the Renault auto plant outside of Volgogradsky Prospekt for a part to trade. Saved by Semyon Andreyovich, he soon meets Lena, another stalker, who immediately gets him into trouble with the Hansa authorities.
Ilya caught a good look at himself under the lighting, in the reflection of one of the windows. He was pale, and thin, but his cheeks were round like a kid’s, and his face was unmarred by scars, moles, or stubble. His black hair stuck up off his forehead, fluffy and soft. His pale blue eyes stared back at him from the window, lost and unsure. He stood there, looking himself over for a long moment, until one of the inhabitants of the train car became annoyed and shooed him away from the window.
