Nymphaea was once a fledgling dove who yearned to fly. She longed to join her parents and dance among the gentle winds, to spread her wings and journey far from her little nest. Unfortunately, her overconfidence became the master of her fate. While her heart and mind reached for the sky, her young and frail fledgling body became her downfall. She tried to fly too soon, and her leap of faith cast her down into the pond below, where the gentle waters claimed her mortal life.

PERSONALITY

Nymphaea is a shy but sweet little Esk who loves to collect tiny pebbles and coins of varying colors and shapes. She's a great listener, and a gentle presence for other Esks should they wish to visit her pond to relax or speak of their troubles. Some even leave a pebble or coin as a thank you. Her collection has become quite a little hoard, to which she proudly shows off and even shares with an Esk in need.

Given her memories and past experiences, Nymphaea, while playful and outgoing, has an air of caution about her major decisions. As she had befallen a sad fate after not respecting her own limitations and capabilities, she carries that with her and even passing such cautionary tales along to fellow Esk that may need gentle guidance.

Larger Esk can be quite intimidating to Nymphaea, given her smaller stature. Should one pass by close to her boundary, or within, she may be somewhat elusive, keeping a bit of distance while peeking out from various hiding spots to observe. She's not very good at hiding, and her bright while coloration doesn't help either. While it doesn't take her long to warm up to kind and friendly Esk, larger strangers may need to break the ice first to get her to open up and come a little closer.
