Dewkit was a shy and timid kit, always seen either closely following his parents around or navigating his surroundings on his own. Even as he desired friendships and a sense of closeness to other cats; he found himself struggling with putting himself out there and navigating overwhelming emotions in noisy environments and big groups of cats.
He held immeasurable love for both his parents, loving to cuddle up at nights, singing together and hear of many great tales of the old. Both Midnightstar and Lunarlament would patiently answer every question and curiosity he held, and they fostered his interest for animals and plants well.
Dewpaw knew early on that the warrior life wasnt for him at all: he'd always get distracted during patrols with creatures and plants taking up all his focus and interest. Battling and training was awfully hard and unpleasant to him as well, disliking the sense of danger and being perceived going up against other apprentices. It also didn't help that he was expected to take responsibility over the clan someday, with his father being the current leader and Dewkit as his successor.
Although he gave few cats a chance to get to know the real him, he was good friends with Magpiepaw; sharing interests, a similar calm demeanour and a calling to the wild. He also held great love for Moonkit and he was thrilled and proud to have become a big brother. He'd spend much time teaching her about the world and showing her all his favourite critters and flora. Despite their differences in personality, with Moonkit being more extroverted and bold compared to Dewdrop withhis avoidance of joining in with the other young cats' play; they still found common ground and would spend time together just the two of them.
Everything came to a tragic halt when Lunarlament was killed in a fox attack defending him and . Keeping his sister's eyes away from the horrific fight until backup arrived to fend off the aggressor, he was with his mother in their final moments. Dewpaw was never the same after that day, and became even more distant and quiet. Feeling more and more trapped in the camp each day that passed, the calling to head into the unexplored world grew evermore.
The decision to leave was shocking to his father, but Midnightstar could see the pain in his son's eyes and understood the need to follow his heart. In an albeit untraditional manner, his father gave him his warrior name Dewpaw as a sign of his son's growth before saying a final, heavy goodbye. One made even more difficult with a young and confused Moonkit tugging at his fur, pleading for him not to go. And all Dewdrop could do was to give a promise to return someday.
Dewdrop now wanders the marshlands and discovers and learns about the wildlife and flora around him. On occasions he meets other wandering cats but he tends to stay far away; especially from clan camps and groups passing through. He will sometimes return to Wingedclan to check in on his family, but only ever stays for a short while before he's off again. He misses his father and sister but he knows in his heart that he had made the right decision for himself.
There is nothing he loves more than collecting bugs, bones, rocks and two-legged trinkets left behind by them. He will usually make a nest where he builds up his collection until little left can fit or until he decides to wander elsewhere. He leaves behind these treasure troves in hopes someone else will stumble upon them and feel the same joy as he felt coming across each and every item.
FAMILY
As much as he loves his family and clan friends that life wasn't suited for him.
He holds little interest in visiting them and if they happen to cross his path he usually just observe them from a distance.
They both understand each other well, having similar experiences as well as shared interests in flowers and nature. He loves sharing his passion for sea creatures and she her passion for birds and so they often gush about these topics together.
Dewdrop left camp a while before herself ran away temporarily. Once she started venturing out more frequently they would sometimes come across each other again.
His dearly beloved younger sister who was still a kit when he left, despite their short time together they were immensely close and never even bickered.
Moonkit always followed him around and he always had a joyful time telling her all about his findings and interests, even if she didn't always understand it all.
He highly regards and admires his father more than anyone else, even if they don't always understand each others' views and opinions.
He misses Midnightstar , especially the walks he'd take him on and all the wisdom and stories he had to share.
He adores his mother wholeheartedly and was very much a momma's boy, often remaining close and in constant need for attention and physical contact. With her limited mobility he would often run off to get her anything she might need.
Being a young apprentice when he saw his mother die shook him deeply and left him forever changed. That loss also contributed to him eventually leaving the clan.
