Aliment Traits and Anatomy Details

A lad weighing about a large bag of flour, with an incredibly dense, plush, "fur" layer. Pressing on him will leave an imprint, but doing on any part of him that isn't his thick mane causes him great discomfort. A general guide, anywhere with blueberries is good to press, anywhere with sugar is a nono.

Speaking of blueberries, the fruit on his mane is removeable, and will grow back through natural means since the mane isn't technically all fur, a system of predetermined veins growing the fruit from time to time. If you were to eat the fruit you'll have a sac of blueberry preserves in your mouth, just the skin being incredibly tough and off putting, you're better off using it as fertilizer.

The only blueberry off limits is the one square center on his forehead, it is a lot smoother than the one's in his mane, and would cause him a lot of stress if anyone attempted to dig it out.

He has no claws, his species preventing him from having any, but his lower legs are doused with blueberry syrup, which doesn't mean he leaves evidence wherever he goes, his pawprints are formed by a layer of skin, akin to a leaf. This doesn't go for his tail, which the end of it is heavy soaked in syrup, rest in peace to all carpets it had laid on.

The leaves on his face work like whiskers, given their placement on his face however you can tell he tends to be slow at observing things compared to the many other feline species. Sometimes a leaf or two will grow in his mane, but compared to the fruit that causes him discomfort so they're plucked out like pin feathers.

His ears are also textured like leaves, however more delicate, instead of rubbing on his ears its better to run a finger along them, you'll get the same result.

He doesn't really shed, besides the occasional fruit, granule and leaf you won't find crumbs on the floor or on your clothes, even the tail is one big flexible mass. The only time Honoka's been told when he sheds is when he gets stressed or sick, his fluff becoming more dry than moist. However she hasn't had that problem yet so either this cat is extremely chill with all life's curveballs or she's doing okay.

The darker part of fur is more moist than the lighter part, running your hands over this part will rub off some, and leave a slightly sticky residue. But it's a sure sign he's healthy and he's flexible, allowing him to do all the cat physics he can. If you wish to pet him without consequences you have to wait until he shows his belly. Until then you're restricted to only patting him.

He is kept on a stricter diet than most cats, too much water makes him weaker and more pliable, too much food causes stiffness in his joints and greater sugar crystal growth. However the conditions aren't too sensitive, just something to keep in mind so this guy doesn't accidentally stretch something he can't stretch because of breakfast.

Personality

A cat that has a personality of stale bread.

There's not a lot that stands out, he doesn't really seek out foodies but won't hiss if they come near him. He won't pounce on everything that moves but that won't stop him from whacking someone if they don't get the message. An indoors cat but he will stick his nose where it shouldn't be if it smells like good things will happen if he does.

Maybe he's a little smart, he's attentive at least, he knows when Honoka will get up in the day to make breakfast and the signs when it is time for him to have his yearly checkup. Perhaps this is also why he's so acclimative, being able to see the signs before the change occurs or something disrupts the routine.

There's also the fact he is so, so, so very trusting. Even with strangers scooping him up he doesn't squirm or bite, even with vets giving him his vaccines he doesn't go hide in a corner after it's all done. He won't purr in content, but he won't fight what is going to happen.

Biography

So one sweltering afternoon in the middle of somewhere in the suburbs in the metropolis, a van pulled up with a crew of maybe 5 or 6 foodies prepared for a long afternoon of trap-neuter-return. Their subject? A large house, maybe even a mini-mansion if you would be generous, filled with presumably more than 20 cats. A classic hoarding situation, they don't know where the owner went, maybe it was the anonymous tip they were given with a few photos, but that's irrelevent. A couple of days of securing all the cats they could find (and they did a very thorough sweep), Bartholomew and the other 19 or so cats were put up for adoption, and the rest was history.

Or so it would be if Honoka wasn't sitting on a park bench listening to her friend asking her to take this cat off her hands, circumstances needing this friend to move back home where Bartholomew would definitely not be accepted one way or another. Honoka had never taken care of a cat before, especially one that had been cared lovingly by another foodie, she would've felt guilty if she wasn't emboldened by the idea that this cat was aparently low maintienance, and that she was doing a good thing helping out a dear friend of hers.

Extra Notes

  • If you were to roll him on his back to pet him, he would just whack you and roll back. He doesn't bite at all, you would have to force your hand into his mouth.
  • He can stand on his hind legs for a really long time, even walk much longer than what's normal.
  • Honoka had been given weird looks by other cat owners about Bartholomew not having any claws, thank god for StoveFox for saving her from being chewed out.
  • Prefers to be colder than warmer to Honoka's dismay, even made a habit of sneaking into the fridge if it's left open for to long to just chill in there.
  • Has a habit of mimicking, even to go as far as to do his business in the bathroom instead of the litter box, even sitting while doing so.
