Profile

A magical wish-granting being of phenomenal cosmic power, Eidolon prefers to keep to himself away from mortal folk.  He claims it's because he's tired of their petty squabbles, but in reality, he's just a little afraid of being exploited.  There was certainly a time where he was younger and naive, which apparently left him with memories and experiences he'd rather not talk about.  Very occasionally, however, he will come down from wherever he's currently holed himself up (usually a mountain of some kind), get to know some new folks, and perhaps even...make friends?  Tales of various cultures mention mortals making friends with an immortal and being blessed by their power to achieve their wildest dreams, but Eidolon denies any connection, cryptically stating that he isn't the only one of his kind.

Beyond Eidolon's snooty, judgmental persona is actually someone quite sensitive.  Keenly attuned to the strife of the world, it's what keeps him hidden away, but also something he cannot stand.  If enough going on pushes him to action, he will act...just with a bit of stubbornness, and sneering, and "I'm not doing this because I like you," and so on.  He's also particularly fond of shiny baubles, jewelry, and gold-plated things, and will even accept them as offerings, though he vehemently denies that "offerings" are what they are.  Maybe he's actually just a little gullible...??

A roleplay character, and thus can work in a variety of settings as long as there's room for a cosmic, magical being.  In species-agnostic settings, Eidolon could be related to Ecclesiastes, if both are considered magical immortals/minor deities, with Eccesiastes having a focus on emotions and knowledge, and Eidolon having a focus on dreams and wishes.  In this context, they have a sibling-like relationship, with Eidolon being older.  He finds Ecclesiastes to be largely embarrassing with their airheaded attitude, and prefers to avoid them if possible.  Meanwhile, Ecclesiastes loves him, of course.
