Trivia
- She was originally created as a background character for an unreleased comic about Heliodor's lore, but later got completely revamped on Easter 2022
- Pyropes are one of our country's biggest treasures. Thus, she's themed around being a literal Czech garnet and a poppy flower
- Having a gem instead of one eye is inspired by the countryhuman community where the Czech Republic is often depicted with an eye patch
- Her gemstone placement and role in the story represent the antonym to one of the three wise monkeys- "see evil"
story & relations
Created under Blue diamond, Pyrope's main focus has always been the operation of recreational and cultural activities for Blue's colonies. However, this all changed with the death of Pink.
Due to her empress' worsening mental health and work performance, she was given a whole colony to run. After quickly adapting to the amount of power and responsibility she held, Pyrope saw it as an opportunity for a greater beginning. She become more politically active, open to public discussions and actions while trying to befriend other powerful gems with success.
Because of this, she cherishes the a new era 2 and thinks it's one of the best things that could have ever happened to her.
Day before her promotion:
For her upcoming colony interview, Pyrope visited her birth kindergarten in search for an inspiration and confidence. She was surprised to learn that her home has been turned into wild fields of red flowers, resembling poppies.
Due to gem activity, most biological flora didn't survive the lack of nutrients in the soil- except one. This resilient, fast-growing invader thrives in dry environments, taking over the empty canyons gems left behind.
Rather than being disgusted, Pyrope was impressed by this phenomenon and saw herself in it, giving her the needed confidence as also a good floral symbol to decorate her future dress with. In addition to this, she planted a few of them in her palace biosphere dome where they flourish till today.
Relations
Melanite
So young and naive... Lucky for her, I'm not as soulless as some of the other aristocrats. I also have to admit, Melanite is very determined about becoming the best version of herself, which I humbly respect. Maybe in few thousand years, she'll get everything I'm currently only dreaming of. The potential is surely there... But for now, I shall remain as her friendly guidance.
Grossular
When I swore to look forward to the second era, I wasn't expecting becoming a nanny for newborn runts. *Sigh* Guess Melanite softened me too much because now I'm guiding this tiny dork too. Well, robonoids are the future, so why not help out expand their production. Plus, Grossular is truly respectful of old traditions, deeply fascinated in studying them. That cannot be said about every garnet miniature~
Counselor Melanite
For someone tasked to look after their court's youngest garnet, she's terrible at her job. And there's no better gem to judge her for it than me!
Septarian
*Excitedly giggles* As I always say, regardless of your ranking, you need a sharp eye to objectively call out your ridiculously cloddy ideas. Someone who can always be by your side yet not blindly mimic you like a pearl would... And if you can't handle the criticism, you shouldn't call yourself a strong leader, darling. Anyway, Septarian goes up and beyond the qualities I can ever ask for in a servant~
Moldavite
Ah yes, Moldavite owns my favorite spa house. She personally insures me and my friends have the greatest experience with her service. Going as far as dedicating a whole chamber and mural to me, she indeed does a pretty good job (especially when it comes to massages). The only downside to it all is watching her make fun of Septarian. Although, I cannot help but feel strangely flattered by their silly fights over my attention.
Euclase
Darling, being a garnet isn't always so stress-free as some assume. There are days not even a spa can help you relax! For these moments, it's great to have an euclase around. Trust me, you won't regret getting one.
Pyrope SK
My my, if it wasn't my favorite pyrope! She and I emerged the same day not even a few sectors apart. Hanging out with her can only go two ways- Either our minds feel flawlessly conjoined or we argue over the most petty things. SK especially likes to blame be for thinking I'm the better one. Well, it's not my fault it's true.
THE Pyrope
Ah, the perfect cut... With each year, she's getting snobbier, yet I cannot complain~ She trusts other pyropes more than anybody, meaning we all get the privilege to enjoy bits of her luxurious life. She organizes us pyropes well, arguably better than White her counselors, teehee! And who knows, perhaps once her gem completely rots, I'll be the next prism-bearer~
Blue
*Whispers* (Should I be completely honest? All I see her do nowadays is cry over Pink. Blue is absolutely unusable as a leader, believe me. Us garnets are doing ALL her work, yet we get little to no credit around the peasants. At least other aristocrats acknowledge us.)
Opinions & details
The diamonds: "Gracious planets, the war really messed them up. Yes yes, the peasants cannot see the difference, but we do. Blue can't work, Yellow distracts herself by creating abominations like Uvarovite, and White cut all her communication with the world. It's tragic, yet comedic at the same time."
Crystal gems: "Who? Oh- Is that how the rebels called themselves? What a silly, pathetic name~"
The war: "I couldn't care less about the war itself. What matters is the aftermath. And my goodness, era 2 is a mess. GOOD mess, to be clear."
Cross-gem fusions: "Oh silly, they're just a fable."
Corruption: "You dare to ask someone like me about the peasants?! Get lost, NOW."
White council: "Walking leftovers of White's presence. They don't interest me as much."
Garnets: "Oh my, you must have misspelled it. We're, in fact, called 'the greatest, brilliant nobles in existence.'"
Red flowers: "Oh, are you speaking of my palace gardens? Well, the flowers in them are from A-H14, my home planet. They symbolize resilience, vastness, and beauty of the soil I emerged from."
