RHINE
ABOUT
Outwardly, Rhine is a very casual and agreeable person. She expresses brimming confidence in her actions and her lifestyle, the type of person that would put any anxious heart at ease. She loves a good joke and laughs loud and proud. She believes in making even the most grueling work a good time. She feels the need to maintain the image of a reliable hero to all.
Her confidence is backed with her hard-earned skill, quick to think and get herself out of sticky situations. Just when things start looking ugly, Rhine pulls out something unthinkable.
Despite this, her vices are as many as her virtues. She holds herself to unreal standards, and often exhausts herself completely trying to run around and take care of everyone’s issues. She wants to rely on her allies, but often finds it difficult, worrying she will wind up leaning on them and not be able to properly carry on her mother’s legacy. She would throw herself in front of an explosion and still force herself up off of the ground if it meant helping anyone. This causes her to behave recklessly despite what logic drives many of her actions.
Rhine isn’t able to envision things in a black and white way, willing to give most people a chance to rethink their potentially hazardous lifestyles and decisions, but never letting that openness to change endanger her or her loved ones. Once someone demonstrates their unwillingness to change, all bets are off. She will not hold back.
DESIGN
- mask is commonly portrayed with a static expression but youre free to make it express more by drawing her eyebrows over the mask or changing the way that the eye holes slant! more fun that way
- she's wearing protective elbow and knee pads
- her gloves have mini grappling hooks, 'brass knuckles', and a set of claws that can unsheath from the brass knuckles.
- her cape is a little old and tattered! she refuses to get rid of it
BACKGROUND
ADVENT OF THE SHADED CITY
When she was 16, her mother sadly passed of natural causes, a devastating blow to both the angels and herself. A year was spent mourning and struggling along, taken under the care of Ranger, who had become a close family friend through her relationship with Rhine's mother. Freshly turning 17, a fire was ignited in Rhine’s heart. She wanted to help others the way that her mother had.

In just a few years, Rhine is among the guardian angels who are emblematic of the group’s cause, risen to infamy through sheer will.

- rhine is absurdly resilient for a normal human being, but its likely due to the intense training she engaged herself in sometime after her mother's passing.
- rhine's mask is symbolic in many ways. the visage is based on childhood drawings she'd done of the dark creatures, making the mask a parody of the twisted creatures; a mockery. she knows how most of them work intimately enough to handle them without breaking a sweat. it is also a comfort item, one that keeps her in touch with memories of this life in which she's been well-loved. furthermore, it is a significant component to her vigilante theme. as well as a means of hiding what fear and panic she can experience in the field behind a giant, wild grin.
- super sentimental, rhine will keep just about anything someone gives her, and will do just about everything she can not to throw away something she herself made.
- can get real unhinged if a fight has been going on long and she's genuinely tired, but refuses to lie down until she's practically dead.
