Profile
Theodore Hartmann is an alligator who was given the consciousness and lifespan of a typical human through an experimental process called Genetic Personification.
Description
- Theodore is sometimes called Theo by his friends. (The name "Theodore" is a reference to "Dorothy" from The Wonderful Wizard of Oz.)
- He has three fingers on each hand.
- He sports a normal alligatorid tail.
- In the comic, he is depicted from infancy to adulthood. (In infancy, his scales are a light green, and they become a darker green as Theodore reaches adolescence.)
- He respects his creator, professor Tinsley Hartmann, like a mother. Although he is aware that he does not have "real" biological parents, he is never bothered by this.
- He feels a great deal of pressure as the first genetically personified animal. Being the prototype of this procedure, he does his best to give everyone he meets a good impression.
- His best friend is a human girl around the same age as him named Joylene Johanson. They do not have any romantic interest in one another, but bond over similar social pressures.
Spoilers
- He fights the odds and successfully studies to become a firefighter in his adulthood.
- Theodore towers over human adults when he reaches maturity.
- He only ever uses his advantageous size to help save people from burning and otherwise unsafe structures.
