Tinsley Hartmann

Tinsley Hartmann is a college professor who uses her skills in genetic engineering to create an alligator as intelligent and lively as a human; Theodore Hartmann.

Visuals and appearance

• Has pink skin and brown hair, which she usually keeps in a ponytail wrapped on her shoulder. One bang hangs over her left cheek.
• A young-ish mother figure, she is in her late 20's at the start of the comic, and ages normally as time passes.
• She never wears makeup or jewelry.
• Usually seen in a grey lab coat with an id card pinned to it, but occasionally wears more casual clothing.
• She never wears flashy or risque clothes.
• She is fluent in defensive pencak silat, and uses that to protect herself and Theodore.
• Works as a college professor (mostly off-screen).
• Employs at least one assistant at any given time to help take care of her putative alligator son.
• The name Tinsley Hartman is an admittedly indiscreet reference to the Tin Man from The Wonderful Wizard of Oz.

• • It is implied that Tinsley became fascinated by genetics because she is barren herself. This fact is never brought up in the comic, but its one of the reasons she created Theodore specifically.
  • Her proficiency with self-defense was partially brought on by an abusive relationship she was in before she became a college professor.
