Crom's a depressed programmer, with a ton of dorky interests who one day was surprised by a Digimon appearing in his room! Despite being prone to moodiness, he's quite excitable, friendly, and a bit silly. Also sarcastic and sometimes doesn't take things very seriously, especially when it comes to assessing danger. This can be either fun or annoying depending on who you are... Especially regarding his knack for trolling.
Very clever and intelligent in many respects. Skilled at hacking, programming, and all things InfoSec, and has a mind for strategy and looking at things from all angles. But is nerfed by his extreme awkwardness and low social intelligence. In short, he can come off a bit oblivious or misunderstand things others tell him, especially if he's caught up in his own head. This can cause a bit of awkwardness, or make him sound rude or blunt.
Extremely sensitive, and has a fear of becoming irrelevant and unwanted. This has lead him to act out many times lol he tries his best. Maybe a bit too trusting to anyone who is even kind of nice to him. Has low self preservation skills, and a tendency to wear himself out or put himself in danger if it means helping someone else.

I'm always happy to see how people interpret him!! Artistic Freedom is entirely encouraged, BUT if you want to know how his hair is "supposed" to be drawn, it's two longer sections (thin and wavy) up front that fall just shy of his chin, and then very short (but curly/ wavy) in the back. His hair is meant to be curly and messy, so, as long as you keep that in mind, I really don't mind how you choose to draw his hair style! Hair grows, afterall!

Has a hard time relating to others, most of his friends are Digimon... Chronically ill, so he's often tired, this only somewhat tempers his reckless behavior lol. A bit headstrong and sometimes doesn't think things through before acting. He has gotten himself into many a Situation because of this. If it weren't for his quick wit and ever loyal Digimon partner, who knows how many more he'd get in!
If not exploring the Digital World, he likes to mess around with code and creating programs. Some of the time, these programs are quite helpful...
While Crom's intelligence and wit is sometimes used for working on things and ideas to help others... He has a snarky, sarcastic streak, and loves pranking/ "trolling" people, and usually has some sort of quip (annoying or endearing, you decide) to add to any situation. If you're his friend, this is always light hearted and silly, always happy to get a laugh out of those close to him. He probably won't hack you as a joke. Sometimes can come off quite self-assured, but it's false bravado, and is very easy to fluster, in reality.
In short, while quite a bit socially weird and sometimes subject to intense mood swings, he can be quite charismatic and be infectiously happy!
Background: Lived and grew up in Pennsylvania, somewhere near it's border with New York. Child of divorce, lived with his mom for most of his youth due to his father being deemed unfit due to his alcholic tendencies and other issues. Mother was a workaholic and tended to be rather aloof and distant with Crom. To be honest, his Aunt (Mom's sister, with whom he and his mom lived with for a spell) was probably the closest thing to a real parent he had. Though, this doesn't mean he holds any animosity towards either of his parents, and feels a bit of kinship with his father, at least prior to Wolfgang's tragic death when Crom was a young adult. Inherited nearly everything from his father, house included. Though, as somewhat expected by his mother, living in the old home negatively affected Crom's mental health. Had his Armadillomon not appeared in the Human World just when he had, there's no telling what kind of story would be told of him today.
Misc details: He's trans! Came out when he was in High School. "Crom" is short for "Cromwell" but he doesn't go by that. Should wear glasses more often, doesn't because he thinks they make him look old. In comic/ campaign canon, he was born in the mid 80s, but I often depict him as if he were born in the mid 90s.
