Overview

Maya is very adventurous with a fiery spirit that she emulates in her circus talent, the pyro arts. She has been described as a 'natural disaster' by many and loves to get into fights with any and everything. She loves teasing others to see just how far she can push them at times, but never takes it too far. Maya hates bullies, she see's fighting something weaker than oneself as the ultimate form of cowardice.

She is very loyal, and exceedingly brave. The more dangerous the situation the more she wants to face it, all the while nervously jumping from toe to toe. She is an adrenaline junky and is the jump first ask questions later sort. The reason behind her cavalier attitude is a simple one, necessity. 

Growing up Maya was the largest and strongest of the Cœur sisters, and when it came to survival it was often up to her to take on the more physically demanding tasks. She sees any fear as a weakness that may allow harm to come to her family, so instead she has come to hide it behind a false face and instead tries to convince herself that she actively desires danger. In reality she often finds herself afraid that she may not be strong enough to protect those she loves with each new threat. Little does she know that she is living the very meaning of bravery.

Maya does like to talk about her 'softer' emotions, when her sisters are concerned however she holds nothing back. She is the guardian of her family and will turn violent if she perceives something as a threat.

She is loud, brash, impulsive and is a big instigator. She is also loyal, brave, steadfast and very self-sacrificing.

Demeanor

Quirks & habits

     May always has something to read on her, and often can be found walking into solid objects distracted by her literature. She is very protective of her reading material, but can be easily bribed with a new book. 

     She chews on her bottom right lip when in thought. Jumps in place when excited. It has been stated by her sisters that she sounds 'like a dictionary' when she speaks.

     She has a disdain for nay nickname or reference to her height, as a dwarf species of rabbit she is very small. She also finds her nickname of 'onion head' to be mildly tiresome, in reference to the way her hair looks when her goggles are pushed back.

Communication skills

     May is shy around new people, and has a tendency to babble when excited about something or trying to explain something. She can take a strong leadership role when needed and can switch from an excited prattle to a clear, strong voice, only to sink back into her awkward role once the issue at hand has been solved. 

     When resolute or leading her sisters she is confident and assured, when left to her own devices she's chirpy and chattery, but sounds a bit like a dictionary. 

     She tries to tell jokes and be humorous, but her jokes are often literate heavy or dorky in nature and tend to fall flat. She still thinks they are funny and will snort/laugh at her own jokes.

Showing affection

     May shows affection via awkward compliments, and cooking. She enjoys baking or cooking for her friends and loved ones and has everyone's favorite meals and treats memorized. 

     She is good natured and can become easily excited, pumping up her friends and family. She is socially awkward and often would not know what her own romantic feelings are, and has to have them pointed out to her by others.

Childhood

  •  Due to her eidetic imagery memory she is the only sister to remember the lab and Doc Orgueil.  
  •  Grew up away from society, her social skills have suffered as such and is a bit ignorant to the way the world truly works. Her views have been shaped by the snippets of news papers and magazines they would steal or the books she has read.  
  •  Was the problem solver of her sisters, often made mechanical gadgets to help in their daily lives. 

     May grew up with her sisters, raised by Meekah a capuchin who was owned by a circus prior to the experiments at Doc Orgueil's lab. Meekah returned to her now abandoned circus that sat adjacent to an also abandoned town deep in the woods at the base of the Smokey Mountains as they enter Georgia and Tennessee. The girls were raised to survive in the wilderness, with the remaining comforts of the towns former inhabitants. Meekah also trained them in the only arts she knew, believing that idle hands made for idle minds and that one day the girls would need some kind of skill to survive. She trained May in the trapeze arts, being the smallest and having good spatial awareness. She often preforms along side her sister and excels at circus arts involving balance and heights. They also took an interest in music along side their preforming arts, May finding that of the sisters she was the best at composing and writing their music. 

      Growing up she took an interest in anything she could read, and would often save scraps from abandoned food stuffs to paste over her walls, simply to have more to read. May spent most of her time in the towns small library and the former office of John Douglas, the forefather of profiling. Having left his office with the rest of the town May would pour over his notes and studies educating herself on the field of profiling. She has a major interest in anything psychology as such, but her expertise remains in the field of deviant psychology. Within his office was a typewriter which May became proficient with, using the plants her sister Miya grows to make her own ink. She used it to write many a story, fantasizing about life as a human or any of the other pictures or snippets she has seen of the rest of the world. As such even though she is not the greatest with modern computers, she can type very fast and is a quick learner of the new technology presented to her.

     Of her sisters she is the practical one, and often the problem solver whenever an issue arises. As such she became the defacto leader of their little group, much to her disdain. She isn't overtly confident in herself, but will take the reigns if it means a better live and odds for herself and her sisters. Ever the reluctant leader, she devised masks for herself and her sisters allowing them to on the rare occasion sneak alongside highways where humans pass through. She has trained herself that when she dons the mask she is a different person, attempting to take on a persona of what she sees as a calm and steady leader. 

     Of the girls she is the only one to remember Doc Orgueil, her memory retaining snippets of him and his work. She both fears and misses him, as he was cruel to his research subjects having initially starting with over a hundred rabbits. His methods were harsh and cruel, the main reasons he left New York and ceased working with Professor O'Neil. May desperately wishes for human connection and acceptance, and him being the only human she has ever known left her wishing he was more of a father figure. Her mind being so young and still pre-mutated her memories are often juxtaposed with her desires for said father figure. This is left her feeling a form of abandonment as well as an unease around men, unsure as to how they are expected to act or behave. 

     Of her sisters she is the best at tracking quarry, having the patience and insight to notice the smallest of details. She also became the families main chef, being able to memorize recipes with ease and having a ver discerning pallet that allowed her to detect ingredients. She often came up with gadgets and machinery to help her sisters and Meekah around their small town, but not having access to the modern world her machines contain no program and are purely mechanical or steam powered in nature. She has always dreamed of visiting the Library of Congress or the New York Public Library, both of which she knows of from a travel magazine. 

     Her and her sisters at one point discovered an abandoned chocolate bar by the roadside, after one taste they became addicted to the flavor. A rare treat for the group, upon attempting to sneak into a small human town she also discovered coffee, which became another rare treat for her. She has read of a supposed 'mocha' which she desires to try above all else...right next to getting herself an 'internet.'

Feats

     May has tracked quarry with her sisters at her side for days on end, never losing their trails to ensure their survival. By the time she was five she read an entire libraries worth of books. She has made hundreds of gadgets and robots out of pure mechanical components. She has also memorized a pocket dictionary she once found. 

     While not always knowing the proper nomenclature for things, she can detect ingredients by taste and is able to profile a persons' taste profile with ease. 

     She is also able to profile criminal actions with ease, her expertise in the field of sociolizing may lack majorly but her profiling and tracking skills pair together to make her a scarily accurate huntress to any unfortunate enough to fall on her radar. 

     She made her own compound bow, though not knowing that such things exist she simply calls it her B-Bow short for bun bow, using the wheels to make up for her lack of upper arm strength. She has also developed specialized arrows to help her, from simple rope arrows for climbing, to foam arrows that harden and immobilize targets. She is an ace with her bow, and knows how to throw knives due to her circus training with Meekah.

Universes

  •  Their main design has the girls in the bayverse.  
  •  They can plug and play into any of the given universes though.  
  •  In any universe they are written into the characters are all aged up. 

  • Rise of the TMNT - May and her sisters are a group of very small town girls who upon coming to NY to expand their online music presence are mutated into a group of bunny girls. 
  • Batmanverse - The girls story remains much the same, with the exception that upon learning of superheroes they decide to move to New York to try their hand and becoming vigilantes to one day be accepted by humans. 
  • TMNT 2012 - The story once again remains the same, with the exception that the girls learn of a long lost friend of their mentor Meekah. A man who might be the only help in getting her human help after she contracts a debilitating illness, the girls take their sickened mother and travel to NY in search of the human Hamato Yoshi... 
  • TMNT 2007 - The girls move to NY after the death of their mentor, in an attempt to be both near humans but hidden in the sprawling network they make. They attempt to make home in abandon buildings and quickly make a mess as well as a trail of urban legends in their wake.

After being introduced to modern technology May, with the help of a certain friend in purple, develops a quiver that acts as a homing device for arrows, allowing her to recall arrows during combat for reuse. She has to be careful when recalling specific arrows however as their path home to the quiver might take them through an ally.

     Due to her childhood she is hesitant around new people, and having never met a man before she was initially hesitant around all of the brothers. She quickly found herself nervous rambling more than usual, but Donnie's docile and equally intelligent nature won her over the fastest of the brothers. 

     Upon meeting Donnie May is star struck, not only can he access the internet, he was able to take her to one of her dream libraries, the NY Public Library. He quickly became her outlet to the amazing world of humans and all they have to offer. She began a bit star struck, happy to have someone to geek out with as well as having someone who doesn't find her babbling annoying. 

     She finds in him a companion and solace in their fast changing world, and in time finds herself falling for her friend. Being ignorant of her own emotions, it takes goading from her sisters to realize her feelings and when she does she tends to shut them out, afraid of rejection and loosing the only other mutant nerd in the world. 

     She is often filled with much self doubt, and is often intimidated by Donnie's knowledge of the world and afraid that perhaps he pities her. Often having been the nerd nuisance to her sisters, she is afraid of being a nuisance to him as well and constantly doubts both herself and his earnestness. 

     There is on occasion a lack of communication between the two, which can lead to hurt feelings and misunderstandings. As Donnie is not skilled at expressing emotions, and May has no practice socializing with anyone out side her family.

      She enjoys that Donnie gets her humor, and loves that if a joke misses between them the other will go and look it up in order to be better in the loop for their partner. The two often make dorky jokes that leave the rest of the group sighing or rolling their eyes. In timelines where they find the four children, May takes over the maternal role to the turtle baby that she names Galileo, or Gal for short. Here Donnie proves to be a fairly competent father figure, trying to overly think raising the tot. While May taps into her maternal side and balances it with her intelligence. Still his strong desire to help in raising the kids makes her see him in new ways, a stark contrast to what she knew a father figure to be.

     Upon meeting the brothers for the first time Leo made a reassuring impression on May as being steadfast and calm. She looks to him as a figure of respect, being the steadfast leader she can only pretend to be. 

     His ability to lead and understand his brothers is a skill she envies and often finds herself seeking him out for advice. Their roles are akin to that of an older brother and younger sister, with him often encouraging her to both lead and live in her own way. He is the second of the group to realize the chemistry between his brother and May, and alongside Miya often makes offhand remarks to the two awaiting the day that one realizes their intent. 

     When May finds herself struggling to unite her sisters or understand the world around her she often goes to Leo for advice. His approach is firm yet gentle, and he helps May embrace the harsh realities of her new life. 

     He's not afraid to hurt her feelings if it means teaching her a lesson. As such May trusts him almost explicitly as she knows he would not lie to her, even to spare her feelings.

     Mikey's bold personality initially threw May off, not used to socializing outside of her sisters his quick approach to their group left her apprehensive. 

     She quickly began to see him in a similar light to how she viewed Mina, full of heart empty of the head. She dotes on him, but also can become exasperated of his antics especially when paired with her sister. 

     Mikey often leaves the socially awkward May in precarious positions, to which she tries to stutter and stammer her way through. She appreciates his relentless efforts to make her and her sisters smile, and to help her understand how people interact. 

     While not seeing him as the most intelligent of individuals, she considers him to be highly socially skilled and appreciates that wisdom he brings. 

     The two can be found playing games together, where May is trying to figure out every logical approach as he button mashes to her annoyance. Even more annoying is that he more often than not still wins. 

     She doesn't find him as comforting or as reliable as his brothers, but still finds him to be an earnest and honest friend which she holds to the highest regard.

      Raph initially intimidated May, and for some time after she was uncomfortable around such an aggressive presence. She considered him a danger to her sisters, especially how he encouraged Maya's reckless nature. 

      As time progressed she learned he really has a big heart for those he cares for. As such he has learned to rely on the big brute for the situations she can't handle. May still regards Raph as problematic, and the two can often get into spats. 

     She still enjoys picking on him with the aid of her other small sister Mina, and attempting to use their speed to evade his wrath, with a mostly positive success rate. 

     Raph over time becomes adamant that the girls should learn to defend themselves, especially small Mina and May. He often gets mad at May when any of her schemes or plans put herself in danger, he can also often be found fuming at her for blindly walking into dangerous situations when to deep in a book.

     Their verbal barbs often end quickly and with him threatening to give her a noogie or some other kind of gentle yet harsh silencer.
