Sparrow is a lover, not a fighter. He has a dazzling presence and irrisistible charm much like the Sun itself; but despite being quite the sweet talking casanova, he is far from a disrespectful cheat, and treats everyone with cordiality.
Sparrow has a delightful taste for mystery, and because of it, very few people know his real name or origin. They take up many aliases depending on where they travel to, some being Clementine, Songbird, Sunshine, Redfearn, Freckles, Sol, Beauty, and more!
Through his travels, he has developed impressive proficiency in a wide range of languages; Italian, Spanish, and Sign being their first; and he makes good use of his versatile tongue.

Sparrow is a breezy and bright individual with a free spirited outlook on life - and a penchant for a bit of silly mischief. He's quite the social butterfly wherever he finds himself, but isn't a big talker; instead saving their words for opportune moments and preferring to thoughtfully enjoy whatever new identity or interaction may come their way.
He's always had an aversion to labels and frivolous traditions, but still holds on to some superstitions from his home.
Along with Sparrow's nonconformist ideology, though, comes a fear of commitment and avoident tendencies. Despite having no ill intentions, he is quickly restless and needs to stretch his wings frequently, often resulting in him running away from difficult situations or decisions.
Sparrow has a burly figure and wide shoulders, with a sandy tan complexion scattered head to toe in freckles. His face is charming and distinct; characterized by a clean shaven jaw, square chin, and aquiline nose. His jaunty ginger brows crown tantalizing half-lidded eyes of mismatching colors; his lips resting in a natural lazy smirk and framed by sunkissed strawberry blond curls.
His body is notably muscular from his life at sea, with a broad chest defined by pointed top scars; strong arms and hefty thighs populated with curly ginger hair - though he carries a bit of comfortable softness around the edges as result of his affinity for bread and pastas.

Sparrow was raised by their mother, Kasia, and grandmother, Jelena in a small sun-soaked coastal town on the island of Sirenia. His father, Alessio was an avid sailor, and inspired Sparrow’s love for the sea from an early age. Tragically, Alessio was killed in an accident during a voyage when Sparrow was 6 years old and he never returned home. Despite the loss of his father, Sparrow never lost his fascination for the water and the urge to spread his wings.
After losing her husband and brother to the sea (and Julian and Portia, as far as she knew) Kasia herself vowed never to sail from the island. She felt wrong in keeping her child from the freedom their father had cherished so greatly though, and always fully supported his desire to travel.
Sparrow embarked on their first long term journey in their late teens, and after that day they never sat still. He was a reckless fellow in his 20s—exploring, experiencing, and charming everything he could, but he always visited home to put his mama at ease and regale her with stories of his adventures, using his travels as a way to avoid the realities of the world around him.
During his travels (nearing 30 now) Sparrow ran into Julian, having believed him to be dead since the shipwreck that took his parents. After some rowdy shared adventures, the two parted ways, and eventually lost track of each for some years as Julian moved on to Vesuvia and Sparrow busied himself elsewhere.
After the events of the red plague, Sparrow, now in his mid thirties, dropped by Vesuvia, and to his surprise was reunited with both Julian and Portia; aided by the connections of the former court astrologer, Menodora—an individual he would grow far closer to than he anticipated.
Sparrow’s wild tastes lessened as they grew older, but despite the love and family they found in Vesuvia he was still a wanderer at heart, and as difficult as it was to leave, his restlessness prevented him from lingering too long.
Sparrow now returns to Vesuvia frequently, checking up on Dora and making sure his troublesome cousins haven’t stirred up another world ending disaster.

Sparrow and Julian have always had a playful rivalry, and you can count on the pair to get into trouble and pull some classic Devorak shenanigans in good fun.
Despite their families being separated since their youth, they think of each other very fondly and deeply cherish their connection due to the shared loss of relatives.

Dora is Sparrow's best friend, and he returns to Vesuvia as often as he can to savor every second he can spend with her.
Sparrow has won many hearts and loved many people, but none has he cared for in the same way as Dora. She has taught him to be more honest with himself, and to slow down and appreciate long-lasting connection.

Cecilia is Sparrow's only neice, and he adores her with everything. For most of his life he had believed the Devorak bloodline would end with him - but against all odds, this little miracle came along.
Sparrow brings Cecilia gifts from all of their voyages, and loves to take her out and spoil her whenever they're in town.

Sparrow enjoys Muriel's quiet company. It took Muriel some time to warm up to Sparrow's presence, but they get along well with one another, for the most part.
Muriel and Sparrow are not romantically involved themselves, but since they share Dora as a partner, they have developed a respectful relationship with one another. Not quite friends, but less than lovers. Life partners by association, if you will.

Sparrow has a particular fondness for his sparky little cousin. Nights not spent with Dora are often spent with Portia to share palace gossip and snuggle Pepi.
Being the oldest of the Devorak children, Sparrow only knew Portia when she was very small. Despite this, the two get along as if they'd never spent a day apart.

The two met on a voyage together, and their attraction was clear from the beginning. They bonded over their love for the sea and sun, and Sparrow enjoys Mel's companionship greatly.
Though their travels have them separate frequently, the pair always find ways to reunite and cherish their mystifying encounters.
