Baphomet's Links
Baphomet never got much direct interaction with angels until Samael stumbled through the veil of Limbo in search of safety from the coming flood, with Lilith in tow. Suffice to say, they both left quite an impression on her. While she tries to check up on them where she can, Baphomet has had more opportunities to bond with Samael and acted as his mentor across Limbo's ghastly expanse. She cares for and admonishes him in grandmotherly ways.
An old friend, trusted ally, and neutral confidant. He knows he can go to Baphomet if ever he is in need, but the times they see each other are few and far between these days. Samael spent an entire year in Baphomet's company with Lilith while waiting out the Biblical Flood in the dark blanket of Limbo, only to return some centuries later in search of guidance after he and Lilith parted ways. He treasures her insight, power, and compassion, considering her something of a parental figure.
Lilith was quite an unexpected addition to her list of connections, much like Samael himself. Baphomet saw in her both an innocence and a darkness that the angel in her company did not seem to fully grasp at the time, one that Baphomet hoped she could steel Lilith against growing stronger. She worries for Lilith when she hears nothing for long stretches and hopes that what she was able to teach the immortal has served her well.
Baphomet is one of the few individuals Lilith would consider a friend. She admired her when they initially met and treasured her company during the time she and Samael escaped God's flood. She wishes she would have taken Baphomet's wise counsel to heart sooner in dealing with the ways of the world - she could have avoided so much heartbreak.
Baphomet acted as Stolas' mentor in hedgemagic and other forms of witchery during her time in Hell as the appointed Lord of the Sabbath. While she would not say he was her best pupil, she did find him to be more pleasant and studious than other demons under her charge. They have not spoken since she left the infernal kingdom behind and returned to her home in Limbo, but she remembers the owl demon fondly enough for their shared love of the natural world.
While Stolas thought of Baphomet as nothing more than a teacher, he did carry respect for her words and wisdom. His focus on natural magic could not have been strengthened by a better tutor than the one who established hedgemagic, and Stolas takes great pride in getting his lessons directly from the source. He treasures all that she taught him and holds her in high esteem even if he does not necessarily miss her presence.
She first met Leonard as a young hellspawn eager to learn the ways of the witch. Baphomet took him on as an apprentice but quickly found herself disgusted by his methods and twisted scruples. When she learned of him attempting to amass human followers with satanic rites by using her image, she could bear him no longer and spurned the black goat. Baphomet has felt nothing but bitterness and contempt for the demon ever since, as he betrayed her trust, abused her teachings, and irreversibly sullied her image in the human consciousness.
Baphomet was once someone Leonard admired. She taught him much, but in his hubris he feels he has succeeded the Grand Witch and her attachment to the limited arts of Purgatory. Leonard saw his forced renewal in human worship of Baphomet among the Knights Templar and other organizations as a compliment, a respectful homage to his teacher, but she detested him for it. Rather than be deterred, Leonard continued to sow belief in the proclaimed Goat of Mendes and has succeeded in completely confusing Baphomet's mythology by human understanding.
