veph

Veph is a mantis with a dark, blue-grey body, with a lighter white face, a long curved horn, and a broken one, a scar on his right eye, and lean, slender limbs. He has a long, blue cloak with wispy, torn ends, a fur collar, a hood, and three, sharp, tooth like ornaments around the collar. He has various bandages around his chest, legs, and arms. He carries a long, silver spear.

Design Notes

• Please keep his asymetrical design elements in the correct places (broken horn on the left, scar on his right eye)
• Keep his chest bandages in the same place, the others (while you shouldnt stray too far from the ref) are more flexible!!

Veph grew up in the mantis tribe along with his sisters, he and his sisters had begun training at a very early age, and grew up to become fierce and noble warriors. However when the pale king arrived, and formed the kingdom of hallownest, the mantises had to compromise with the king in order to keep sovrenty over their tribe. They agreed to fend off the creatures of deepnest from reaching the rest of the kingdom.

Veph disliked the pale king, his agressive expansion of his kingdom, and how he had barged into their home and forced them to fend off creatures, who to him, had done nothing wrong. He saw the king's efforts of expansion into deepnest as a unjust invasion of their territory. After some time, Veph had begun meeting with some of the creatures of deepnest in secret. When the king attempted to build a tramway into deepnest, Veph was caught attacking the tram workers along with the bugs of deepnest. Having betrayed the tribe, he was exiled.

Exile

Apon being exiled, Veph fled to deepnest, as the bugs there respected him and honoured him for his aid in fighting off the tram workers. He stayed for a while in the distant village with Tusk, a fierce bug from the spider tribe whom he had fought alongside with. Eventually, Herrah accepted a deal with the pale king to become a dreamer, and was put into a deep slumber. Shortly after, the infection spread to deepnest, and Tusk and many other of Veph's allies fell victim to it, and he was forced to flee once more. After wandering across Hallownest, he eventually settled in kingdom's edge, as it was relatively quiet, and was sparsely populated. Veph spent a while by himself, until he met Sol. A moth who shared alot of his experiences of exile and isolation. They quickly grew very close, as Veph had missed being around others. However Sol eventually fell to the infection, killing herself in order to protect Veph. He journeyed all the way to Hallownest's crown to lay her to rest, and when he returned to kingdom's edge, he found a vessel huddled up in his camp. He decided to take it in and named her Dewdrop. He now spends his time training Dewdrop to make sure they are strong, and he won't ever lose them.

Trivia

• Veph used to spar with Markoth when he first arrived in kingdom's edge, however they eventually both went their seperate ways.
• Veph occasionally enters the colossuem of fools and competes in the trials, he never does it for the geo, mostly to keep his skills sharp after Markoth left.
