He is a Wishmaker, a personal species I made. Wishmakers are born with multiple eyes and have the ability to "grant" wishes, thus their name. For every wish they grant, one of their eyes permantly closes, and when all their eyes are closed, they die.

Kai's species consider themselves "Wishmakers", they're a reclusive clan full of prophets and mystics, and as the name implies, they're known to grant wishes. As far as Kai knows, he's either among the few still alive of his clan or of the few who actually decided to go out of hiding to explore the world. The secret to their wish granting powers lie within the eyes on their body. Kai literally has no idea how wishmaking works.
