avid hunter. her idle form lacks claws, pawpads, a visible spine, and a tail. while 'idle,' she wears her mask to hide what's underneath. when hunting, the markings on her paws become protracted claws, her back markings start to protrude as a spine, and a tail and ears appear. her mask disappears to reveal her skull, and her fur becomes darker to better blend into her environment.

she enjoys painting and decorating her mask with red paint (and the occasional blood splatter). although it isn't known exactly why she does so, it's theorised that she enjoys to warn her prey in advance while hunting, as she enjoys to play with her food rather than immediately dispatch it.

smoke emanates from her mouth at times, the colour dependent on her mood— white if she's content, and black if she's stressed or angered. her pupils also express her emotions, changing into different shapes when flustered or focused. they move around inside the mask unless someone's watching; she does so to avoid further suspicion.

somehow, her guard was let down just enough for her to be captured by ill-intentioned scientists in order to find out how she ticked. they code-named her "Null" for her dark colouring and blank stare when idle. due to the constant probing and invasive procedures she was put through the first time she was caught, she was made weak for a couple years while her body attempted to heal; this made it possible for the scientists to capture her again and again until she eventually defended herself and slain those who had harmed her. the lab in which she was experimented on became defunct and abandoned, but a few of the surviving researchers continued to follow her and observe her in the wild.

primarily nocturnal, but will condition her circadian rhythm to become diurnal if prey becomes more accessible during the day. her eyes are well-adjusted and she can see in the dark just as well— if not better— than an owl. mostly hunting for food, she will kill if she feels she is in danger, or if she's bored and lacking mental stimulation. she has no natural predators other than the humans who constantly hunt her for their own gain.
