PHYSICAL APPEARANCE
| HEIGHT: | 8cm (keychain / physical form); can freely change (canine form) |
| APPEARANCE: | the keychain is Luca's physical body. Luca itself is made of pixels. It can assume a few forms - most often it chooses the appearance of a cute lion with dark fur, white skull marking on face, purple eyes, pale aqua rump and green tail. It also sports white spots on back and tail. However, it can also take on a much demonic appearance, of a pitch-black severed canine head with glowing eyes and human-like teeth, and strings / feelers coming out of its neck. In this form it looks quite detailed and more realistic than its screen should allow it. |
| SKIN / PELT: | Luca inhabits a yellow plastic electronic keychain with a rectangular LCD screen. The toy has 3 rubber buttons below its screen which are used to play the game. It has a keyring attached to the plastic shell, so that the toy can be used as a keychain. |
| BUILD: | Luca's keychain is made of sturdy plastic and shaped like a rectangle with soft corners. Luca itself doesn't have a physical body and is just a piece of software / AI... or something intangible that possesses the piece of plastic. |
| DRESS: | Luca has full control over its pixelly appearance and can summon clothes for various occasions (such as a dress, a tuxedo, beach apparel and so on) |
| ABILITIES: | Luca seems to have full control over the software it inhabits. It can freely project any image it wants onto the keychain's screen. Most often it uses this skill to change its own appearance (give itself accessories / clothes). The being also possesses some supernatural abilities. When stolen or misplaced, it will always find its way back to its owner, regardless of where its owner had gone. It will appear out of nowhere among its owners belongings, waiting to be found. Same thing happens should the keychain get destroyed. However, Luca will not stalk its owner if they want some time alone from it. Despite its good nature, Luca is able to place curses on people. It targets only those who hurt its owner. The curses vary from person to person - recurring nightmares, hearing unsettling noises at night, or seeing Luca's dog form out of the corner of one's eye and have it vanish when looked at directly. Luca's software / soul is very persistent. It will not get erased, even if the toy's batteries run out completely (which would usually result in erasing the save file). |
| OTHER: | Despite not possessing software that would allow it to talk, Luca can speak (most likely due to supernatural abilities). Its voice is buzzing and high-pitched, coming from a small and low-quality speaker. (A virtual pet toy like it is equipped to only make beeping and buzzing sounds, after all.) Luca seems to be able to "survive" just fine even if it's neglected and the game isn't played (the virtual pet isn't fed, played with, etc), but - just like a normal virtual pet - can fall sick if neglected. It's much happier when taken care of. |
PERSONALITY
| Looks cute and unassuming, but holds immense power. Loyal, protective towards its owner, can appear naiive but is actually pretty clever and astute. Despite its mysterious nature and unnerving abilities, seems to have a good heart and not have any malevolent intentions. Curious and eager to learn about the world that surrounds it. |

BACKSTORY
| When Zjero was a child, she was given the virtual pet toy as a gift. It soon occured to her that the virtual pet in question is much more than just a piece of software, but the kitten only felt curious and happy about it (which kid doesn't dream of their toys coming to life?) Luca became Zjero's companion as she would take it everywhere with her. When Zjero grew older, life got in the way and he didn't have a lot of time anymore to play with Luca. He left the virtual pet in his childhood home when he was moving out. Luca stayed dormant for a few years, before Zjero decided to come back for his pixelly friend. Since then, Zjero has been keeping the keychain around, so the two can hang out often. At some point, Multi (a piece of software vimself) got a hold of the electronic toy and bullied Luca since it looks so cute and unassuming... but without any other witnesses, something happened between vim and Luca, and ever since then Multi has been terrified of the lion and steering clear of it. |
