Personality

Eloise is known for her gentle kindness and quick encouragement. She works hard for the circus, but is also always there if anyone needs a shoulder to lean on. She is often somewhat shy, however, and isn't particularly bright. Despite what her job might make you think, she tends to prefer staying away from danger and is especially protective of the ones she cares about. She tries to make sure nobody does something too reckless, although her slight lack of wits can cause her to misstep herself.

Appearance

Eloise is a light-skinned woman with long and slightly messy blonde hair and green eyes. She has a thin nose and a somewhat pointy chin. She stands at an average 5'6 and has a thin build. Although she isn't the most beautiful, she has an infectious smile.

Considering she doesn't have a lot of money to spend on clothing, her outfits aren't usually very special. Her main outfit when performing, however, consists of a dark brown coat and a red dress (although it's actually an oversized shirt), purple leggings and red-brown boots with a yellow rim at the top. She also wears a black beret-type hat on her head and often has blushes painted right until her eyes.

Early Life

Left behind at an orphanage at a very young age, Eloise never got the chance to know her parents. Dropped off with a note, she'd already been named Eloise and eventually chose the last name Swan for herself. Up until she was 5, she stayed at the same orphanage where she soon made friends with Charlie, an older boy who had strange butterfly wings. When she was moved to a different place closer towards the sea to control numbers, however, she wouldn't see him again for a long time.

The orphanage that she was moved into was much larger and she found herself too nervous to make any friends like she had with Charlie. By the time she was 12, she was eventually adopted by a small family, but their living condition was not great. This was when she began to first practice tricks such as juggling, and her new family would sometimes put her into tiny competitions later on to take the rewards for themselves. That being said, she felt the happiest when doing them. She practiced very often as a way to distract herself, and she began to learn how to walk on ropes starting with thin railings next to the sidewalks outside. As soon as she was old enough, however, she'd quickly move away to make her own path.

Later Years

Taking a temporary home in an old hotel, she'd try her best to make a living by doing small jobs for people around town along with very occasional street performances. Her free life wouldn't be exactly as she expected, however, and she found herself unsatisfied by how little she was making. Eventually, however, she'd meet a familiar young man outside a local shop who had wings like a butterfly. As she'd quickly find, it was none other than Charlie.

As they spoke, Eloise would learn about his circus and decided to join before even finding out about Fred, the ill boy he was trying to save money for the treatment for. She'd start to walk the tightrope and juggle as her own act for the next 8 months, and soon after, the attention around the circus would start to rise. Although her main goal with the circus' profits is to simply improve her own life, she also wants to help Charlie with his, knowing Fred well and also wanting the best for the child. Because of the circus, though, she's never felt happier making people smile.
