HELIODOR
Overview
A high level gem whose performances were solely reserve for high rnaking gems like her, such as sapphires, tanzanites, agates, and, reserved for perfect heliodors, the diamonds. Her coffin cut was especially unseen, making her more sought after as far as shows. But she never complained, readily eating up the attention until Era 3.
Heartbroken and left bitter with having lost her audience, she was pleasantly surprised upon seeing she did have an audience during one lone performance. It was a single purple gem, who claimed he was begining a sort of revolution to restore their statuses as important gems, as they were always meant to be. And with the promise of a more captive audience, how could she say no?

Demeanor
Has a bad habit of forgetting that she's rather gigantic in comparison to most gems, and will often turn to face no one before realzing she needs to look down. A quirk of hers though is she actually allows her pearl to fill in for her as a break or pre show to Heliodor's performances. Will also kick out any gems that complain about said pearl doing a pre show.
She's good at persuading gems to get her what she wants, almost too good. Although never noted in the creations of Heliodors, many believe that alongside their gorgeous singing, it actually has an almost siren like effect on gems, making them more susceptible to their suggestions.
Showing affection is no big deal to Heliodor if it gets her what she wants. But genuine, real affection? You'd have better luck convincing her to shatter you instead of getting a sincere kiss or hug from her.

Design notes
- Has a beauty mark under her right (our left) eye
- Always wears her head band but also occasionally wears neck jewelry.
- Her eyes always have that 'missing' bit or eyeshine, sort of like spinel's first form as a callback to old animation.

- Her gloves are actually removable but she prefers to wear them usually.

Emergence
- Came from a large vein of Heliodors.
- Was one of the first to emerge.
- Actually emerged with a different form to her current one.
Although one of the first few to emerge from her vein, Heliodor looked vastly different to the other Heliodors around her. A mess would be putting it lightly, and other Heliodors let her know that well from behind snickers. Even the overseeing gems were a bit shocked by her appearance, but quickly remedied the sitation through poofing her and having her reform. Under most circumstances, she'd be placed in a lower class or discarded, but her gem cut saved her from such fate, as most Heliodors had a rectangular cut.
Upon her reforming, she had suprised many of the heliodors with her more bold look, most notably her dress, but kept to themselves as they were sent to different sections of Homeworld to perform and show their worth. Our Heliodor however, ha a few tricks up her sleeve that the others didn't.
Pre Era 3
- Regarded herself as one of the best performers.
- Grew increasingly confident as the years went by.
- Was gifted her pearl around this time.
While many Heliodors fought for a top poistion as the best singer among them, our Heliodor quickly climbed the ranks. Many gems claimed her songs had almost healing effects or helped clear up the visions sapphires had to better predict certain future paths. Her position was sealed when a star sapphire let a higher up gem know that this particular Heliodor would be especially good for Homewolrd and its upper class gems.
With this new found vision, Heliodor was gifted new quarters and a pearl, after all, a star sapphire couldn't be wrong in their vision of said gem. And to say Heliodor was pleased would be an understatement, she had never been more grateful for a sapphire stepping in.
Era 3 Aftermath
- She and her pearl remained on Homeworld for a good bit after Era 3 was declared.
- At this point Heliodor lost most of her audience.
- Cue Charoite's intervention.
She had never been more bitter over a sapphire stepping in. After all, if they hadn't maybe Heliodor wouldn't have been left so heartbroken losing her audience if she never had it in the first place. No, it hadn't been that sapphire's fault, no gem could've forseen some organic creature breaking up the diamonds just because of his conections. While dealing with these thoughts, Heliodor found it best to vent through singing in her now empty stage room, facing away and pacing as she did so.
Her surprise was tangible when a single round of applause came from behind her as she finished. A charoite? Here? The gems were notoriously rambunctious but yet this one had an air of regality to him as he approached the stage. A small conversation began, one where he spoke of wanting to restore the statuses of gems who deserved it, gems like the two of them. All it took was the promise of a brand new audience for her to grin and ask him to go on about this plan of his.

Skills & abilities
Swordsmanship
A more difficult skill that she picked up, she'd only had a small amount of time to learn it, and as a result has a poor defence against attacks while using it. But a blade is a blade, and she can use it all the same.
Echo
By far her strongest and most utilized ability is her ability to project her voice and have its resounding echo be harmful to gems and, in some cases, even cause them to lose their physical form. To her knowledge, she's one of, if not the only, Heliodor to master this skill and fully utilize it in combat.
Lullaby
This ability is wildly known across Heliodors and, while not completely experimented with, the evidence points to their singing being able to persuade gems to make choices they woulnd't normally make. Some Heliodor's find mastering this ability easier than others, and our Heliodor is close to mastering it but still can't convince gems to go against their own moral standings. But she knows she can, and she'll find a way to master it.
The gem who convinced her to join his group, she trusts him a fair amount as they both have very similar goals in mind. Ironically though, Charoite is more cruel than she is, finding more of a sick enjoyment rather than her more 'fun' approach to their rebellion. It doesn't cause many issues, but it is where they aren't in total agreeance at times.
To say she's absolutely terified of this gem in their group would be an understatement. That being said, Heliodor greatly respects Petra's strength and intellect. It's just that Petra is also a huge and powerful gem and for a more fair gem like Heliodor, she knows full well Petra could snap her gem in half if she felt like it.
The gem that Heliodor trusts without a doubt is her pearl, her confidant through nearly half of her existence. While her pearl doesn't fully know the deepest, darkest secrets, Heliodor would trust her opinion well before Charoite or Petra's opinions.
