Harue remembers little of her past up until being found by her adoptive father, Val. She is very fond of the elder and truly sees them as a father figure.

Octo Expansion

Test Subject 10,009 - Harue - was only just starting her tests, a few stations in, when Agent 8 saved Inkopolis from becoming a smear of sanitized ink across the landscape. While Agent 8 and the others left the rubble of what was Kamabo Corp, the destruction that rippled and cascaded down through the structure and into the test subject stations laid waste to those left behind.

The explosion threw debris, junk, and parts into the ocean and while most of it sunk to the bottom, lighter pieces were carried away by the currents. Harue was severely injured when she washed up on the shore of a quiet beach just as the sun rose. It was there she was found by a runaway Octarian, the crabs and seaweed peeled off of her before she was rushed inside for aid.

Her leg was not all she lost as she awoke with no memories, only lingering nightmares and terrors of what she had experienced. Val has become an unwitting father for the young Octoling and as she recovered and grew stronger, her curiosities of the world continued to expand. She developed a love of the ocean, for the sun, and was ever curious of the cities on the skyline.

Recovery

Val was kind and patient to the confused Octoling they had ended up fathering - and she hoped she was a good daughter in return. They were odd and wonderful, teaching her Octarian, Inklish, and Salmonid while also teaching her to fight and defend herself. She wasn't really sure why Val lived in such seclusion, hidden in a fishing town near Marooner's Bay, a large energy plant smogging the air. It was only after finding a tossed out magazine that Harue learned of Inkopolis and Splatsville, of the outside world, brimming with sea creatures of all sorts and Inklings and Octolings a like. After she had fully recovered from her injuries and was confident in the teachings of her parent, she approached them with hopes of moving to Splatsville.

Val was nervous but after much deliberation, it was decided. In a few weeks time they had moved to another, smaller fishing town without smog in the air and with a train-line that connected right to Splatsville in 30 minutes time. From there, Harue grew in leaps and bounds, traveling to the city with her father until they were confident enough to allow her to venture on her own. Harue met so many people, making friends in her matches, scowling at the Grizzco building, and aweing over the idols. She was able to become a somewhat normal kid who just wanted to turf war and wear the coolest, freshest clothes the city had to offer.

Current Life

Harue is still building up her skills with her Ballpoint Splatling and Squiffer before she and her friends jump into Anarchy matches. She spends all week in Splatsville while spending her weekends at home with her father, fishing, cleaning, and prepping meals for the coming week. While things aren't always perfect, she couldn't ask for anything more.
