from birth, lyss was taught one thing: failure was unacceptable. her mother, for what it was worth, tried her best to tell lyss the opposite, but who was she to fight fate? if her daughter was to survive, she had no choice but to succeed no matter the cost.
she, like so many before her, was destined to stop the greatest evil the mortal world had ever seen...or die trying.
said great evil hasn't reared its head in about fifty years, so lyss isn't entirely sure that this is something to be worried about, but does everything she's told regardless. she keeps demons from hurting innocent humans, and looks damn good doing it. for now, at least, it's enough.
being a human weapon with no choice but to fight to survive is...what she's meant for. everything else — the gold medals, the fame, her friends — are only happy coincidences. something she might one day have to give up.

Relationships
rowan is something of a...special friend of hers. she met him when she was only 20. she doesn't remember exactly how it happened, but there had been vampires cornering her, and suddenly there was rowan helping her drive them off. not that she needed the help, mind you, but tall, dark, and handsome got a very memorable thank you once she washed the blood off. now, they mainly go shopping together and she dogsits for him when he has to travel for work.

what do the last remaining vessel of a long forgotten god and a demon hunter-slash-figure skater have in common? nothing, really. and yet, blair is a good friend she's always been able to rely on, even if his delivery usually leaves something to be desired. within a month of knowing each other, he told her that everything she knows is going to die, but...that's just kind of blair.
SUNNIE HA
when asked what it's like being friends with the most famous popstar in, debatably, the entire world, lyss would tell you she doesn't know. to her, he's just...sunnie. they've been toeing the line between friendship and something more for almost a decade now, and she knows he's just as dreamy as all the magazines say, but to her, he's always going to be the boy who wanted to dance because of a barbie movie.

- height. 5'9" / 175.3 cm
- build. athletic and almost a little too tall for her chosen profession. lyss has been dancing, skating, and fighting as long as she can remember, and it shows in her body. due to her strength being supernaturally enhanced, she's not the most overtly muscular, but has, in fact, crushed a vampire's head with her thighs before.
- eye color.
reddark brown - hair color & style. black and naturally straight, and falls to her chest. she used to have bangs when she was younger, but grew them out and never bothered getting them cut again. she tends to cur her hair and wear it with half of it pulled into a ponytail, or sometimes two on either side of her head, but of course puts it into a more responsible bun when she's fighting or skating.
- distinguishing characteristics. other than her major resting bitch face, she has a mole on the right side of her face just above her mouth (think marilyn monroe), another just below her left eye
- piercings. double pierced lobes on both sides, left nostril.

- style. goth dream girl! favors black & dark red most of all, also likes dark blue. dark red lipstick and a cross necklace are her staples, she likes to wear skirts but they aren't always the most practical given her tendency to kick demons in the head. big chunky black boots are a must! leather, lace, you name it, she's probably worn it.
Mental/Emotional
- personality. serious and extremely focused and competitive, knows her worth and refuses to settle for less, a very competitive person overall. lyss can have fun and let loose, as well as be caring and gentle with people she's close to, but it's a rare side of her not many people see. she's a bit hot headed and has a my way or the highway attitude, but she does mean well. due to a traumatic event in the past, she has some control issues ad is very wary of making mistakes. can be flirty and loves to tease.
- positive traits. determined, resilient, almost always has good intentions, very, very caring.
- negative traits. stubborn, has a quick temper, can be inflexible, closed off.
- habits. drums her nails on the nearest surface when bored, and tends to be quick to start a fight (bear in mind that she will finish what she's started). she's also an extreme perfectionist and refuses to settle for "good enough", which has led to several late nights.
