Thanatos, or known simply as Thani, is the first ever Umbralwisp and a severe problem in Aermerea. Every year around Hallopuffie he steals and mass releases all sorts of Vani lanterns and other things into the Sanctuary Isle, his way of repopulating, and or strengthing his food source of vani gems which are souls, he needs these to live and thrive as an umbralwisp. No one is sure where he gets the vani lanterns that hatch new vanis. He loves causing mass chaos and pandemonium. He directly works under Vanite but this is something they both deny and there isn't much concrete proof only speculation. He is devious and is known to feed on Vanis still living in the Vaniwisp Hideaway that wander off. Many have tried to catch him none have suceeded. He is very good at what he does. If your a Vaniwisp who spots him tread carefully as he might be looking for his next meal and you may be it. He is the one and only Umbralwisp living in Sanctuary as they are forbidden to be there, but this guy continues to elude them.
