About
Morren is the current leader of Smile County, and he has been for the past 10 years after being voted into power. He is a level headed man who is a pseudo 'cult' leader in Smile County. It's not really a cult, but from an outsider perspective it sure seems that way! Morren has a firm belief that everyone has the right to feel safe and happy, and because of this he teaches it to those closest to him in the town's council. While Not everyone in Smile County follows him as closely or see him as a literal God amongst them, they do hold him to high regards due to his caring nature towards his district and people. He has been given a rough start, and a rough 20 years, but he wants to make up for his sins and overall become a better person.
Story
Morren was not always the kind man he is today. He grew up as a Torchoskan, in the 409th district as many generations born there do. While he was not explicitly like the violent riffraff Torchoskans are known to be, he was not a saint by any means, sharing the same 'better you than me' mentality many 'neutral folks' have in Torchoska. He would leave others to die or even throw them to the wolves during Scarification Nights solely so he could get away to live in hell another day. He never felt a reason to feel guilty for these actions, and for the most part he was safer than most due to, to most, never being the usual type people look for during Scarification Ceremonies. That changed one night however.
For once in his life he was threatened and wasn't given a chance to throw someone else under the bus, he was specifically targetted by a gang looking for people with parts to take. Morren had his face and arms removed, as well as being nearly gutted, before being thrown to the alley to die. He laid there for awhile, unable to move or even pull himself up to maybe seek help. Not like anyone would help him even if they could, everyone was the same, all just like him... Or so he thought. While the dark slowly faded in, he heard approaching steps.
Next thing he knew he was miraculously waking up in one of Torchoska's few clinics. Some stranger took it upon themselves to carry him to the nearest one they could find. He was alive, missing his arms, and his face coated in a bag, but by the Gods he was alive.
For the next couple years, Morren slowly was on a road to recovery. The good samaritan who brought him to the clinic stayed with him, and told Morren they saved him because their God would of wanted them to. They found him that night on the brink of death for a reason, and they needed to act on it. They saw Morren being alive as their God in action, and testing them to be the best person they can be in Torchoska. Morren while thankful, did not feel deserving of it, and it would be awhile before he would realize the gift that has been given him
It was a second chance.
After going through countless physical therapies and surgeries he was able to be independent again, and the friend he made and saved him left him to continue their mission. Morren would then set out on his own. He wanted to try to help who he could, before attempting to leave Torchoska. He would be the first in his family to leave the district, and the change was scary due to what he's heard regarding other districts and their stigmatisms to Torchoskans, but he couldn't stay there for much longer. Not after that night.
When Torchoska finally docked up to another district, he got whatever he had and left as soon as the gates opened up. Before him laid a new life. Smile County.
As he expected, while the people in Smile County seemed to be more accepting of him, he was met with some hostility from others who were not too keen on the strange man whose face was permanently fixed. Morren did not let this deter him, and he would do his best to help anyone who needed it. For quite some years he donated hours upon hours helping the people of Smile County, from working small jobs to helping building projects, Morren wanted to make the best of the second chance he was given. His efforts was rewarded as as he helped around town he also made some decently powerful friends, people who recommended him to their current mayor who was getting too old to stay in power. He woudl of never suspected that he would one day be given the chance to be the leader of Smile County. When voting for the new Leader, Morren was put into the vote, and eventually by surprise he was given the leads. Morren has been the leader of Smile County for the last 10 years, and while he still is recovering from everything that has happened to him and he has done, he finally feels at some peace with himself. He firmly believes he can only ever get better.

Personality
Morren is a very level headed and calm man. He never really yells and his tone is fairly flat and consistent. He is considered kind, generous and very giving. A lot of his new found personality seems to mostly stemmed from the traumatic event that took him nearly 9 years ago as he sees the fact he survived as a new go at life. He always puts others ahead of himself and thinks more on behalf of others rather than himself since he feels like their happiness and prosperity should be the most important things in life.
Morren can't entirely shake his past, as though he doesn't show it he can be rather self conscious, especially due to the odd looks he got when he was first starting his life in Smile County, and the fact that the belief in Torchoska is the 'uglying' of people through scarification is the desired way to look. As a victim of Scarification this has significantly effected the way he views himself. The event has also made him somewhat easy to startle, even if he doesn't show it directly. He does not like being grabbed and will sometimes smack someone's hand away if he was deep in thought, it's a reflex and he apologizes immediately for it.
He can also have a bit of a cruel or vindictive side, although it again stems from the belief that everyone deserves the right to be happy and safe, this can cause him to take things too far. Because of this, Smile County's justice system is very critical on offenders, even minor offenses can be punished rather harshly. Morren has a 0 crime policy and he will not put up with any type of harm done to others.
Trivia
- His design is actually inspired by a beta design for Ravyrie! I didn't think it suited what I changed her personality to be.
- His name is a dutch nickname, it means 'someone who grumbles.' I got his name from mixing 'pure morning' however!
- He is unable to move his mouth other than to talk and eat. Smiling is impossible for him so he instead pins his mouth up. He also can't open his eye very well!
- The metal side of his face is basically flesh.
- He has pitch perfect.
- His height sprung up after gaining the God being status! Before becoming Smile County's leader he was 6'5.
- While before he could be described as someone with the mouth of a sailor, he refrains from swearing heavily now, often substituting words instead.
