Blettin came into existence when two beings, two parts of himself, found each other and became sentient in a new way. Became somethign new. Because of this, he has memories of two silmutaneous existences, both as real and as important to who he is.
One part of him was a whistler. A whistler is a rare creature that is born out of the blood and misery of those who died with a fierce want to protect. They are known for the ability to whistle and then cause others to move on their own, controlling them by the magic of sound. Whistlers doesn't use these powers on just anyone though, as thye are generally well-meaning and protective. They smell blood-lust in people will murderous, ill intent and guards others from it. Though they are one being, a whistler can act more like a weird amalgomation or hivemind due to it's birth being of several creatures. As such, some regard them as hard to communicate and even a bit feral to times.
The other part of Blettin was a star, a sentient source of celestial magic, radiating far away in the cloudy sea above Midjord. Powerful and also strangely curious to the beings far beneath the seafoams of clouds. After hanging in the sky forever, seeing times change, see the world fall and reshape up hundreds of time, it sauntered down into a world so unlike itself to explore. The first being it came across was a captured and abused Whistler. One that had seen so much misery, sorrow, not just before their creation, but also after it. With no words spoken out loud, the both of them connected emotionally, and the star offered itself as a powersource in return of laying dormant in the Whistler, to be protected whilst it became a sleeping star. Filled with a want to protect and a want to escape the pain the whistler was in, an agreement was made and the result was a fusion that formed and shaped what Blettin is today. A whistler and a sleeping star, uniting and becoming a powerful being with the want to explore and protect.
The road to 'protect other those deserving' was not clean a clean and pure path, given the environment that Blettin found himself in, once he was reborn. It wasn't as if Blettin every actively attacked people first, his priority was always to protect. However he soon learnt that sometimes protecting someone means making others angry and in turns making enemies. Whilst he knew that violence hardly ever created peace, sometimes you had to use drastic meassures to remove those who tainted everything they touched. The atmosphere that had filled this land had lured in a lot of unsavory characters that seemed to only have ill will for others. The air stank of blood-lust, of a want for harming others.
If Blettin had to weed out those, then he would for the betterment of the world. His choices upon creation gave him a frightful and cold reputation. Some of respect, some of fear, but one thing was clear. You didn't want to mess with the Blood bird.
These days, he doesn't carry the same dangerous connotation, even if many people whispers and fears for his capabilities. Overall, the area he resides in prospers much more healthily, but some people can't help but ask what Blettins intentions really are. Where did such a beast come from so suddenly?
