the Catalyst

Patron Entity of the Blaseball team the Venice Copycats, the Catalyst is a Blaseball God whose domain is -- potential energy, sort of. Randomness, and to some degree the RNG; the million ways the dice could fall, and the one way they do. Their presence is capable of catalyzing unlikely events into existence, to a degree not unlike luck manipulation. Their known associated modifications are Entangled, Uncertain, Undefined, Skipping, and, uh, Parasite, for some reason...?

Also they're, uh. A "cat". Cat as a generalistic term? Cats usually don't have so many eyes, or mouths, or legs, and aren't so big - wait, how many eyes did they have, anyway...? The Catalyst is a "cat" in the same way a Consumer is a "shark"; they're not, but there's shared traits and an outward resemblance.

Much like the Copycats' uniform, the Catalyst's humanoid / gijinka form wears an outfit taking inspiration from harlequins and jesters, albeit in the limited palette of monochrome & their shade of purple. They have a passing association with improvisational theatre and commedia del'arte.

An aspect of them exists, amnesiac of their true self, in Minor League Blaseball; this self is named Felidae August and willingly sealed off their own memories so they could understand players better from down on the ground. Blaseball Gods just sort of do whatever they want sometimes, though, so the Catalyst is doing exactly as they've always done and also simultaneously existing down there as a single guy.
