D.A.L.L.E. (Decontamination A.I. Lead-Lined Entity) (pronounced 'Dally') is a Diablo Canyon prototype decontamination robot- deployed to melted down nuclear reactors and other inhospitable places. They are capable of  lifting heavy rubble, carrying melted fuel, and taking contamination measurements. Body parts can be swapped out if damaged and specialized cameras and vacuums can be attached to their body for advanced missions. These series of bots are called DA.I. Bots, or DAIBOTs, as a shortened name for 'Decontamination A.I.'. Diablo Canyon scientists jokingly call them "Diebots" given their tendency to collapse in high levels of radiation.

DALLE is the second iteration of DAIBOTS, the first prototype was DAISE (Decontamination A.I Synthetic Entity) but was destroyed in a test. DALLE's lead lined body provides more protection than DAISE's, who had minimal protection from debris and radioactive material. DALLE interacts with The Gadget for certain missions- despite Gadget's bitter personality, they work well together.

-DALLE likes all pronouns :)
-Must be cleaned often (handles lots of 'hot' materials- could hurt humans)
-Misses DAISE :( they were best friends...
-His 'intelligence' is advanced enough to form complex emotions
-They are a friend :) can be sensitive at times
-Is afraid of 'dying' given their line of work :(

Physical features:

-Character inspiration from Data (Star Trek) and the bots from Black Magic M-66. Their name is stolen inspired by DALL-E, the images from text neural network.

-T.C.S. (Tethered Control System) connects to the base of her spine, allows scientists to communicate to DALLE and provide power

-Protective fireproof arm covers can shield DALLE from blasts

-Wears a somewhat cheap wig they found in a costume shop. While they don't mind being a bot, they like to look human :)

-All radioactive equipment from Diablo Canyon must be marked with appropriate warning labels-DALLE is marked HOT UNIT-STAND BACK along with several radiation trefoils

DAIBOTS are prone to overheating, given their work environment. Early cybernetics (at this time, around 1950-1960) also struggle to cool  themselves in room temperatures. Fluorinert, the type of liquid coolant used in DAIBOT models, is successful in preventing overheating, but can form contaminants in the bot and is incredibly toxic to humans. It also produces emissions with a high global warming potential. Later DAIBOTS use a less toxic form of Fluorinert. With some alterations, older models can be outfitted for different coolants. Coolants are ingested via 'mouth' but can also be pumped through limb hoses or tethered control system on the back of the bot. Pumping or drinking coolant is only necessary when the DAIBOT is in extreme temperatures, or trying to cool down from a strenuous task. Usually coolant looks like blue Gatorade :)
