To include Icewings in the story somewhere, I think I would make them fight in a war that's in my wof au where the Icewings are losing badly. I think this guy would be one of the very few who defends the Icewings, and gets outcasted because of it. Maybe they get exilled out and have to stay in the disputed tundra (https://wingsoffire.fandom.com/wiki/Ice_Kingdom#Disputed_Tundra) Which they would struggle with since it'd be much colder there then they're used to.
