- He's been a Dark Star for so long he doesn't remember when he was born or how old he was for the most part.
- Doesn't like pet names. Zye does call him Jay now and then. Callua will tease him using the name as well.
- Jace doesn't show his temper often, but when he does his powers swell just like real fire.
- While he appears to change allegiances frequently, he only has one true motive he's loyal to.
About
Jace is a man with high expectations for those around him and a calm disposition to be able to help navigate problems. Except once he puts his mind to something he can be very stubborn about breaking from it. Especially when it comes to plans or strats to fight enemies. Despite this he can think quick and critically regardless of the situation. It's being spontaneous that he's weak at.
Memories from his mortal life aren't something he's held close. He doesn't recall much aside from the feelings from those days long since past. All he's carried over from it aside from that are the yellow tattoos under his eyes. As the first Keeper, that isn't a Celestial or Infernal, he's held to a much higher standard by those above him.
Over time he realizes that those higher above him all have their own personal fights. They can't see the forest from the trees. He'll never forget how they act like they can do as they wish and then judge him when he does the same. All while saying they weren't. This anger fuels him to continue with following his own sense of right and wrong. A sense that takes into account how other people are effected by a cause.

As a very private person, Jace keeps his emotions close to his chest. Even so he doesn't hold grudges to those that misread him. It's when someone needlessly hurts another that he'll clutch onto that grudge until they person has proven they're not like that anymore.
Jace has an especially hard time when he doesn't have an answer for something. It frustrates him to no end and he'll put all of his attention into fixing that. This is usually where he buts heads with others as he forgets not everyone thinks the same way or responds the same. Not to mention he has a distinct lack of understanding another person's personal space.
More than anything he shines when he's around someone who truly knows him. The few he lets in to see who he really is find out he's actually quite sweet and silly when dealing with worlds different than what he grew up in. He's a cheesy romantic that loves nothing more than to dote on who he loves.

Martial Arts
Jace is most comfortable fighting bare handed and even without his magic. Over the years he's mastered this skill and a few styles of it. What he makes up for with the lack of defensive skills he makes up for with his pure offensive ability.
Fire Clad
His affinity with fire isn't channeled through a weapon like most Dark Stars. Instead he uses his own body. He can coat sections of his body or all of it in fire. The more of his form that he covers the more energy it takes and the less time he can use it. Only on rare occasions does he use this skill in defensive maneuvers.
Projectiles
In addition to covering his body in fire he can also send it out as a projectile. Because of his low accuracy, he uses this more on the defense. It's a way for him to keep his opponent on their toes. As well as force them into a position where he can capitalize on it.
Summary
THE BEGINNING
Jace was chosen to become the first Keeper. As well as the only one for Solis. He takes this role very seriously and becomes close friends with Charmilla. Doing everything by the book leads him to becoming blind to the machinations of those around him. Not only that but he's kept in the dark until one day Charmilla asks him to go undercover and find out what's going on in the Dark Surge as well as with her fellow Infernals.
During this time he becomes acquainted with Hax and those that work under him in the Dark Surge. As he sees what all is going on under the surface, he becomes heavily disillusioned by this 'upholding the balance' mantra he's been taught and told to uphold. Around there is when he parts ways with Charmilla since she refuses to make any moves until she has enough proof of what Hax is doing.
Working heavily under Hax at this point, he spends his days chasing Nether and reporting on Star/Celestial activity. Yet he does do a favor for Callua one day to go with her to check up on a mortal soul she's become attached to. While he thinks of the souls he's supposed to protect first and foremost, he's never talked to one. He's not sure why he offers to continue checking up on him as Callua's mission extends further into dangerous territory.
The relationship between him and Zye grows organically and quickly. The friendship blossoms into more, spurred on by Zye knowing he’s on a time limit. Even once Jace’s secret is out, Zye stays by his side despite knowing Jace will live much longer after he’s gone.
Jace takes Zye's degrading state especially hard. All of the time they've spent together provokes him to want to make Zye his Guardian. As he's about to do it, he's called back to Hax because it’s an emergency. Learning Charmilla is gone is but the tip of the iceberg. Returning with Hax at his side finds that he's too late and that Zye's soul has already been taken to Noctis— dead to a Nether that got to him.
SHADOWS & LIES
Anger and frustration are the two cornerstones that fuel Jace to continue working alongside Hax. The Infernal promises him that he'll have what he wants the most, the chance to pull Zye to their side. While he doesn't trust Hax entirely, he'll continue to do all he can for him as well as keep an eye on Orion. Staying close to Daichi turns out to be his best strategy as the Dark Star leads him straight to Zye.
Jace hates Daichi for what he's done but never lets him know it. Instead he sneaks Hax to Zye's side the second that he can in hopes of healing Zye and breaking off the bond he has with Orion. Hax does hold up his end of the bargain and do just that. Except the second the bond is broken he begins to fade away with a grin, thanking Jace for all of his help.
He'll warn Jace to make sure Zye lives long enough for the power he's given him to take root and begin to heal him. It's then that he realizes what Hax has done. He takes Zye with him and protects him, all while patiently waiting for his memories to return.
TOGETHER AGAIN
Hax and Charmilla gone, Jace has to carefully play the next role as Kerse’s right hand. All while keeping Zye safe and out of her hands. Together with Callua they take care of protecting Zye until they can make it to Jace’s safe house.
While Zye doesn’t fully remember Jace, the little things he does has Jace knowing that whatever they had is still there. Once they’ve managed to get to Noctis and restore Zye’s memories, he works tirelessly to set the final cogs in place. At the same time, to not ignore the relationship that’s been part of the reason he’s tried so hard to keep going.
From taking Kerse down a peg to help her heal and then going after Soren, he keeps his two friends at his side. He’d do anything to keep them safe and together, the three of them are able to do just that and come out on the other side.
He’s happiest when he’s finally able to spend time with the love of his life. All while things are moving along smoothly and getting better throughout the two realms. There’s only one thing left to do.

They happened upon one another one day by happenstance. Even so, the bond he shares with Zye is so much deeper than any he’s ever had before. The freedom he feels with this man is second only to the love. Everything he does is in hopes of protecting and taking care of Zye.
Charmilla
Friend
She's the only Infernal that he gets friendly with in the beginning as he believes the others still look down upon him to a large degree. She cares for him and takes care of him, much like a mother would. Despite what has happened, he still holds her in high regard and with respect.
Callua

Before Zye, Callua was one of the only true friends that Jace could call his own. Even more than Gray, Callua has been with Jace in even the darkest of times. She’s the rock that grounds him when things aren’t the best and he relies on her. While also wanting nothing more than to make sure she’s happy.
