Justice

Adult, early 20s

5'6"

Trans man (he/him)

Justice is your ordinary lawful good paladin jock, fresh out of Paladin School and ready to do some good in the world. Well, in reality, paladin school was a big temple in the next city over that would charitably take in a few young acolytes from families that were struggling to support their children, but it wasn't a bad life for Justice and he doesn't resent his parents for the decision. He wouldn't want to be a burden on anyone, after all.

On a personal level Justice is self-aggrandizing and hates to be criticized, which hasn't always made him popular. This however is just a cover for the fact that he doesn't actually feel that great about himself. Ultimately where it counts,  he's just a bleeding heart who can't bear to see others suffer when there's something he could do about it, even at his own expense.

Luckily for the trouble he puts himself in, he has a unique gift for magic among paladins. That red skinned, horned goddess he swore an oath to in his dreams as a child must really favor him!

...Alright, Justice isn't that stupid, just a little in denial that he might have made a big mistake.

Despite this, Justice still fully believes that he has a special personal relationship with the goddess his temple follows, and has on his own come to some views that are quite progressive for his religion. Although, as much as he may talk big about these ideas, the effects of his controlling and sheltered upbringing often get in the way of him truly following them.

Has it in his head that his parents gave him up because he was a burden, so he doesn't want to be an inconvenience to anyone again. Feels like he only has worth if he's useful to others, and that he's not allowed to have his own problems or wants (thus his devotion to the "common good"). Of course you'd never hear all this from him.

Naturally there are many things Justice wants, he just feels very guilty about it. On the inside, he's a deeply lonely person, and leans into any sort of affection he can get. Unfortunately he throws himself a little too hard into new relationships, often putting off would-be friends. It's as if the more likeable he tries to present himself as, instead of just being himself, the weirder people think he is. Socially inexperienced, Justice often looks to fairy tales for guidance, trying to be that dashing hero sort.

Children taken in by the temple are given new 'virtue' names, and are forbidden from visiting their families or past lives- as if becoming a whole new person, to better devote themselves to the goddess. Privately, Justice still wonders about his parents sometimes. He was not well liked by his fellow acolytes growing up, including one time they conspired to pretend Justice didn't exist for several weeks until the priests made them stop. He's among the oldest of the acolytes still at the temple, the others having taken off on their paladin quests already. Justice claims it's because they can't make do without him around here, but really, he knows the priests just want to keep an eye on him and his... condition. There's also the fact that Justice has never killed. The priests may worry that he's too soft, not cut out for adventuring.

Justice plays the flute and speaks 3 languages in addition to common, all chosen at random to fulfill his schooling requirements. He smells like fantasy axe body spray- he is, at heart, still a jock.

Drawing note: His hair is in a thick twist out style.
