RAISED WITH GOOD VALUES, BUT SOMETHING FELT MISSING

Sandalius was born from a werewolf mother & a human father who valued cooperation & helping those in need. Being the eldest sibling, he was often helping his younger brother & sister with anything they could possibly need help with, whether he liked it or not. And if he didn’t help, he would get punished.

At a young age, Sandalius took interest in martial arts: in fact, he wanted to fight for a living. And so, it wasn’t uncommon for one to see him physically protecting his siblings from possible bullies. Despite this, though, he felt like something was missing. Despite having a decently loving family, a roof, some friends from some of the martial arts classes he took & everything else one needs to live a nice life, Sandalius wanted to do something more.

INTRODUCTION TO VIDEO GAMES

Some people in his martial arts classes took these classes to shape themselves up so that they could be in top shape for their video game tournaments. Completely unsure of the relation between the two, Sandalius explored video games in his free time. Instead of finding information about the correlation between martial arts & video games, he enjoyed the different games he could have his hands on.

Sandalius was particularly fond of fighting games. Unfortunately, those were also the type of games his parents refused to have him play in fear of “making him violent”. Since his family already forced him to help his siblings, Sandalius would sometimes spend extra time after his martial arts classes playing fighting games in arcades.

FIRST TRANSFORMATION

Eventually, Sandalius’s sneaking out was caught by his parents when he didn’t come home until late at night. He had returned home during the night of a full moon and his parents were waiting for him at the door, pissed off. They decided to leave him outside as a punishment for not helping out enough. At the time, he was still quite young, and so he had no idea where to go.

Filled with the stress of suddenly being left by himself, Sandalius transformed into a werewolf for the first time. Some properties were partly destroyed, and one person was almost killed by him. It did not take long before authorities took him in.

By the time he had gotten to one of the police stations, Sandalius had already gone back to normal and authorities had to watch a 10 year old struggle to figure out where he was. Instead of throwing him to jail, they tried understanding the situation he was in, and with the information they gathered, Sandalius was sent to a youth care organization.

CONFUSED AT HIS OWN SITUATION

While with people he didn’t know anything about, Sandalius closed himself to those around him, making it very difficult for them to befriend him. Nothing in his life seemed stable anymore: everything he once knew was simply…gone. Sandalius didn’t have to protect & help his siblings anymore, he didn’t have his parents telling him what to do anymore, he was free…but at what cost?

GAMES: AN OUTLET

Not even the organization helped him feel like he was worth it, thus he searched for his worth in video games. Luckily, he was still a kid, thus a lot of arcades were willing to let him play for free, given his circumstances. Sandalius also took in a few jobs during his teenage years to develop more skills. By the time he was almost an adult, Sandalius started participating in small tournaments hosted all over Myosotis and started having his name in the gaming scene under the name of Fenrir.

At the same time, he continued mastering the art of fighting, even if he couldn’t attend classes as often anymore. For a while, Sandalius had considered moving to Marigold to perfect his art, but he didn’t want to move away from Myosotis because of all the arcades that were present there. And, he had yet to start playing in the biggest arcade: Lavatera Arcade.

RIVALRY OR FRIENDSHIP?

Once he started playing games in Lavatera Arcade, Sandalius encountered a lot of new people, some of them would invite him in Esports teams. For a while, he joined one that included people who would become his friends for a short amount of time. Unfortunately for him, these people were incredibly toxic to each other & to other players. Sandalius was completely unsure as to how this team stayed in one piece. Despite this, he, with a few people, helped the team rise to the top with his years of practice up his sleeves.

Even if he had a worth by being a very skilled player, Sandalius still wasn’t fully enjoying himself…until he participated in a huge Smash tournament where the final matchup was between his Falco & Deluge’s Fox. Deluge was an IGN he would remember with his heart, as Sandalius had an exceptionally fun match and even if he did win that match, he was inexplicably happy to see Deluge take the loss so well.

Since then, Sandalius tried to get closer to him by leaving his team to join Deluge’s.

O-OH, IS THAT LOVE?

Joining Deluge’s Esports team had been the best decision of his life, as he was in a team that supported each other even if their goal was to become the best team in Gaiatine. Many tournaments were played while in said Esports team. Sandalius was often paired with Deluge when it came to team battles. Despite never having played together before, they easily took down a great majority of the teams they had to take down.

With all these plays, Deluge started getting closer to Sandalius and presented himself as Xenophon. He even introduced him to his friend group, who all dealt with past issues with family. While he feels like he’s too serious for them, they all still welcomed him with open arms. For the first time, Sandalius could finally say he had friends.

Said friends noticed how obvious Sandalius’s crush on Xenophon was and helped him deal with his feelings and confessed his feelings. Fortunately, Xenophon felt the same, but didn’t know how to express his affection to Sandalius properly. Thus, they started dating, while figuring out how relationships work.
