Monty tries his best to be amiable and pleasant to those around him. He'll take extra care to make sure folks in his company are comfortable and in good spirits. Despite this, he can unintentionally come across as dubious or sinister, but he's really a nice guy. He LOVES to meet new people and to experience new things.
He can be playful in cheeky, mischievous ways. He'll poke fun at those he considers close to him, though never in a mean-spirited manner. At least not intentionally. He's very blunt and doesn't quite realize it, leaving him confused if he goes too far and ends up offending someone.
Monty can't be all smiles all the time, and his mood can sour at the drop of a hat. Thankfully, when he's feeling agitated he has the sense to distance himself. If you get on his really bad side, there'll no doubt be trouble. Not that he'd try to instigate a fight, but he definitely will not back down from one, and he's not known for being merciful when enraged. Not to worry - realistically, the absolute worst you can expect is unrelenting venom and passive aggression. It's difficult to make him angry.
He will eat all of the food in your fridge without a second thought, and perhaps the fridge itself for good measure.

Monty wasn't exactly born to anyone - he just sort of happened. Therefore, he doesn't have any parents or close relatives. In his early years as a young "bogeyman" Monty was a loose cannon, seeking to satisfy his appetite for fear in often careless or hostile ways. This could include inflicting bodily harm, destruction of property, and may have resulted in a missing persons case or several.
Soon after the height of his rampaging, Monty was swiftly brought down and may have stayed down if not for a kindly Baku woman, Genevieve who took him under her wing as an adoptive parent of sorts. Over the years, Monty has reformed his image and mindset and grown into a big ol' goofy sweetheart. Occasionally he'll recall incidents from his past, but it all feels like a blurr to him. Still, he's fully aware of the kinds of expectations put on him as a bogeyman. In fact, he's quite sensitive about it. Monty seeks to redeem himself and prove that there's no need to be afraid of the monster in the closet - he's really a nice guy! ...Promise...!
