- Common info:
- A sea spirit who find things lost at sea
- Often depicted at a sea shores during the daytime,sometimes underwater playing with bubbles or a coconut
- Eme has been depicted differently throughout history
- Size range from as small as a palm of a hand to as big as a toddler
- Colors range from blues, yellows, oranges
- The item at the end of their tail is usally depicted as a shiny ball/pearl, but it was also been depicted as flowers and shells
- Assumed only kids can see Eme (folklore enthusiasts would know this isn't true and that there are stories with adults being able to see/interact with eme)
- Modern/Fan interpretation:
- Popular amongst young kids
- Adults are often discouraged from liking Eme because it makes them seem childish
- There’s a nursery rhyme kids would sing by the beach in hopes to attract/summon Eme
- It’s been said that you can ask them to retrieve a lost item by whispering to an light object about your lost item and sending it to the ocean. The lost object can be found on the shores the next day.
