Nora is Burton and Marilyns niece. She was adopted by them when she was a young age shortly after losing her parents to an accident from escaping a DIT Facility.
Nora was born inside a DIT facility in secret but has no recollection of how life was like inside. However, due to the secrecy, she was kept in small areas and was physically forced to be quiet and so, like her younger cousin Xavier, has a hard time verbally communicating with others. She has gained a dislike for small spaces so she generally spends her time outside or in the 'garage' so she can have the large door open as to not feel compacted. And severely doesn't like having other put their hands on her, especially near her face. For fear that someone will try to keep her forcibly silence her.
Nora enjoys a bit of writing and literature, reading to her younger cousins. She engages more with Xavier as they both have trouble being able to vocally express themselves and have both been learning some sign language when possible. Though it's mostly used between the household when appropriate. She helps around with maintaining the home and watching the kids when Burton and Marilyn are both out. She likes to spend her time writing in her journals, as if writing to her parents. She's made a few friends around The Community, amongst others her age or slightly older, as few other children who also remember some of their in the DIT facilities. Nora joins them in walking near the borders of The Community and The Human Settlement, tipping over the line to see what it's like on the side. Her friends like to talk to her due to her experience of being allowed to be near a humans, albeit for a brief moment.
Nora has a small job of writing notes for any humans that come along before they are sent to The Settlement, and as well as Welcome booklets for new Atomies that have joined The Communities.
