Personality

Clay is typically fairly quiet and keeps mostly to himself. He prefers having a small group of friends consisting of only the people he trusts the most. If Clay considers you a friend, he will hold you close and never let you go. Around those he trusts, he's more open about his interests, and sometimes his feelings. But even he can be blindsided by his own emotions. He's very melodramatic and expresses himself through poetry or on stage. He is definitely one to hold a grudge. He'll forgive but never forget.

Background

Clay is the oldest of one other sibling, Dylan. His mom is a elementary school teacher, and his dad works a generic business job. Both his parents care for Clay deeply and have supported him through everything. His mom is always there for him when he needs it, even when he tries to push her away.

Clay has always been pretty shy, but as a kid he was definitely more outgoing. He loved coming up with all the make believe games on the playground alongisde his friends Aron, Hana, and Quinn. He and Aron were inseperable all throughout elementary school. (More on their relationship timeline here.) Aron was his best friend, and he was convinced it would be forever.

In middle school, Aron and Clay would have a falling out that would keep them apart for the next four years. In those four years, Clay would go through a lot of changes. For one, he realized he was trans in 8th grade, and began socially and physically transitioning in high school. He also went through a hard period in middle school where he likely suffered from depression. He retreated into himself, not letting people in, and bottling all his feelings inside until their eventual explosion. Even though he had some friends like Hana and Quinn, he felt more alone than ever in middle school. He never really came fully out of his shell again after that.

In high school, Clay met Alex in freshman theatre. The two quickly hit it off, bonding over musicals that Clay would now find cringeworthy. They've been best friends ever since, though. And in senior year, Clay would be reunited with Aron. Initially rocky and tense, the two would grow to be good friends again, and eventually more than that too.

Present

Clay is currently studying theatre in college. He hopes to continue acting, but is also learning how to write plays so he can at least work behind the scenes if acting doesn't work out. He and Aron are still together unless you like divorce in which case they are. (They'll come back together.)
