Abyss is the oldest Sea King in the seas. He is considered God of the island where he was born. Over time their constant prayers and beliefs have changed him into something...more. He's extremely loyal and stands by his word. He has protected Wayward Isle his entire life and will continue to do so until he dies.
Although he's fathered many Sea Kings over the years, he only has one half-human daughter, Carys, who is the only one he has bothered to raise himself. He has promised to take care of Carys and will do so until he or his daughter dies. As he has sworn.

Summary
For my Canon story his description is basically all you need to know. He promised Carys' human mother, Nova, that he would care and protect Carys and he intends to do that. In the galley, his human look with eyes across his face is for the canon story.
Modern AU: I have a lot of other 'fully human' pictures of Abyss which are from this AU. He's still father to Carys but Solomon is his adopted son. He's a CEO of a major company and is still very protective over Carys. He doesn't care for Marco much in either storyline.
Design (Monster)
• HUGE, bigger than most ships
• All black octopus body
• His head is black smoke-like cloud where LOTS of different eyes float within
• All his eyes are different colors but have the same pupil as an octopus
Design (Human)
• Tall, wears suits
• Black hair that is swept back from the face, undercut is grey
• Dark skin and eyes
• Tattoos that go from his throat, down his collarbones, and his arms/chest
• Tattoos are a mix of octopus eyes and tentacles

Carys
His half-human daughter who he loves very much. Ever since her birth, Abyss's new goal as been to protect her from anyone who might do her harm.
Solomon
Carys' closest friend. Abyss found him tolerable enough. When Marco came along and Carys showed such an interest in the human, Abyss has been attempting to get Carys to pick Solomon as a mate instead, as he believes Solomon is a better match.
