Rosaline is a recently deceased college student. They don't remember how ve died, so they're spending their afterlife trying to figure it out (and also get vir life back, if that's even possible). Believing vir life was stolen from vem, Rosaline's spirit remains as their desire to find out what happened to vem keeps them bound to the world.
After their death, Rosaline doesn't remember any of vir passions from life, and has a duller range of emotions. All they know is that they want to return to vir life, but they aren't exactly sure why they want that so badly (or what their life was even like).
Since their memories about their life (and death) appear to be gone, Rosaline has been trying to rediscover what it is they were so passionate about in life that they want to return to it so badly after dying. It's for this reason that Juliet and Maple take such interest in vem, as the two of them don't understand why Rosaline is so determined to return to a life ve doesn't even remember.
Rosaline's reason for existence is to find out the circumstances of their life and death, but they have no clue where to start looking.
