Profile

"She used to call this place home. Truthfully, she never stopped: she knew upon entering she’d have to fight her instincts to lay down in her bed and sleep away the death of all worlds. To close her eyes and forget; to give up. It would be oh so tempting, and she wanted nothing more than to go back to the way things were and pretend this wasn’t the end… but she had to keep going. She knew she did."
Name: Becca Batlia
Notable Powers: fire breathing + firebending
Universe: Super Paper Mario
Romantic Interest: Dimentio
Theme: Crusher-P — Repentance

Attributes to note: Though she tries hard to hide it, her firebending powers are more than a part of her: in moments of extreme anger, emotion, or exhaustion, she may emit smoke almost as a 'warning'. She doesn't like to use it unless she has to, but her fire powers have a tendency to build up within her during a fight until the tension is too high and they're released out towards her enemy whether she likes it or not. While it also has its practical uses, she only finds herself exploring the true depths of her ability once all worlds are finally saved.

It was a quiet, dewy morning when Becca woke up alone in the castle courtyard.

She had no memory of who she was, where she came from, or how she got there — all she knew was that her body was filled with an incredible pain, harrowing and dull, pulsing through all her muscles. Her mouth was far too dry, her stomach far too empty; if the wind had blown too hard, she may have died.

It could have been ten minutes or ten hours before the doors of the castle opened, and before she could realize it, gentle hands were at her side, lifting her up and helping her walk (with difficulty) into Castle Bleck.

All she could remember was her name. No memory of a past family or a past life would come back to her, no matter how hard she tried — but that didn't matter. In return for saving her life, she pledged allegiance to Count Bleck, promising that she'd forever fight for his purpose. Even if that purpose was... to destroy all worlds.

Becca began to think of these people as her family — she trained with O'Chunks to restore her strength and then some; she strategized with Nastasia and studied the Dark Prognosticus with Count Bleck; she unwound with Mimi; and... she fell hopelessly in love with Dimentio... but it's not as though she could ever tell him that, right?

It wasn't long before word of the heroes came to them. The heroes of the Light Prognosticus, here to destroy all they had worked so hard for, and so soon after the birth of the Chaos Heart and the introduction of the world-ending void. O'Chunks and Mimi had already tried and failed to stop them... and thusly it became her turn.

She became a spy for the villains, letting herself be 'found vulnerable' by the heroes and 'taken in' on their adventure. Each night, she'd stay up and report back to Dimentio as he appeared to her, letting the villains know how far along the heroes were in their adventure.

She didn't expect to grow so attached, however...

Travelling through every world can really give someone a scope of what's about to be destroyed. Countless lives, relationships, histories being thrown away at the hands of the only people she'd ever called family... at her hands.

When all worlds are destroyed, will they go out with a bang or merely a whimper?
