Lachlan ✦

Lachlan grew up comfortably in a big city with his parents, his mom a ___ and his dad a ___. From a young age they nurtured their son's interest for music, paying for lessons, attending and recording recitals, obtaining instruments/equipment he wanted. Middle school was around the time Lachlan got his first mixer, and began creating his own music. He'd share his content with friends at school, and everyone would talk about it. Word soon spread of Lachlan making music, with people at school asking to hear more. The attention led to him focusing more on fun with friend and music, and less on school work. Which led to a decline in his grades.

Lachlan was still able to pass his classes and graduate middle school, but his parents warned him that if he didn't improve in high school, it could hurt his future and they'd have to confiscate his music equipment and other luxury items.

At the start of Lachlan's freshman year, he noticed there was a guy he had almost every class with (even French). While Lachlan was used to be approaching and surrounding him at school, the other guy seemed so calm and focused on his classwork, which Lachlan admired. But because he wasn't used to initiating conversation, Lachlan was too shy to approach the guy. That's when  a few days later his friends suggested the idea of inviting him to a study group with everyone else, since he seemed pretty smart. as a ploy to get him to hangout. But Lachlan could actually use some tutoring, so he told them if/when they want to actually study, everyone else has to leave. He went up to the boy and introduced himself before asking him to help Lachlan in his "study group"  for math since the other seemed so focused and got good scores on assignments. The smarty introduced himself as Connor, and agreed to the request, asking when and where. Lachlan told him after school at his place, and gave Connor his address.

After school Lachlan rushed home with his friends to make preparations, he made sure there was enough food/drinks and seating, with a spot next to him reserved for Connor. They all kicked back and relaxed while waiting for Connor, who soon after arriving realized there wasn't much work being done. He tries asking about studying but Lachlan instead offers him the spot next to him in the circle of kids eating pizza. Connor lost interest due to his serious study time being wasted. and told Lachlan he couldn't offer his studying help if he's not gonna take it serious and was ready to leave. Lachlan quickly stood up, and said whoever didn't wanna study could leave right now, motioning with his eyes for everyone to leave. Which they did, leaving the two alone together.

While studying together, Connor is able to help Lachlan understand the different formula's needed to solve various equations. Near the end Lachlan admits his original reason for inviting Connor over and explains how he was too shy so his friends helped him came up with the study group excuse since Connor seemed so smart. But he really did need help in math, and thanks Connor for his help before asking if they could continue studying together regularly. Connor was caught off guard and flustered over the confession and request, but agrees that they can do it after school every other week when he's staying in the city with his dad, as long as Lachlan gets serious and does as Connor said.

The next day Lachlan went over to Connor's home at his dad's to study. During their break, Lachlan follows Connor as goes to tend to flowers on his fire escape and on the rooftop garden. He asks Connor about his interest in flowers since he heard he took Botany class, and learns of his past, with his parent's divorcing when Connor was 13, the flowers and garden being started by his mom, how she now lives in her hometown half an hour away and runs her family's floral shop, and Connor's goals to become a florist. Connor tells the other he understood if he thought it was an unusual dream for a guy, but Lachlan insisted he thought it was cool Connor wanted to pursue his own personal passions. That's when he asks Lachlan about his own passions. Lachlan shares his interest in producing music and DJing, and begins playing a song he made from his phone. Connor compliments it, and asks him to play more.

The next week Connor invites Lachlan over to his home with his mom, and they visit the family floral shop. There he teaches Lachlan a bit about flowers as they help out a bit in the shop. Connor's mother is filled with joy to see her son speak so passionately about something to someone other than herself, and pulls her son's friend aside to thank him. She also asks Lachlan to please watch over her son from the city. At the end of the week, Lachlan devised a plan for a song and began working non-stop in his free time.

At the end of the first school month in August, Lachlan and Connor both ace a math quiz. Lachlan invites Connor over to an arcade to celebrate. When Connor agrees to meet up Lachlan says, "Great, it's a date!". At the arcade, they have a blast playing games together, winning tickets, and eating pizza. After they finish playing games and turning in their tickets, Lachlan decides to surprise Connor by getting him the beanie he was eyeing at the prize booth and fill it with sweet candy Lachlan got with his leftover tickets. When the two are sitting together eating pizza, Lachlan pulls out the beanie and Connor also reveals he got Lachlan the bandanna he was eyeing at the prize booth and wrapped it around sour candies. The two thank each other as they swap gifts, and Lachlan reveals he has one more: he pulls out his phone and hands Connor an earphone. Connor closes his eyes, as a soft melody plays with some techno to it. Connor asks what the song was, he liked it so much he wanted to download it later. Lachlan grins as he tells Connor he made it himself, for Connor. He wanted to make a song that made him think of Connor, soft, beautiful, and full of life. But also wanted to add some techno and beats to it, to see if elements that're like Lachlan would mix well with Conner's. When he was satisfied with the results, that's when Lachlan decided he knew he'd be able to ask Connor an important question, "Will you go out with me? If we fit together in a song, maybe we can in each other's lives?" Connor's face became more red than any rose as he was at a loss of words. When Lachlan's expression showed concern, Connor took a deep breath and said "Yes!" with an exhale, but warned that he'd never been in a relationship before, so this was all new to him. But Lachlan grabs Connor's hand and comforts him by saying his last relationship was 5th grade, making the other flush more.

Lachlan tells his parents all about Connor, and their newfound relationship. So they invite Connor over to meet him, and were glad that their son not only found someone to help keep him on track in school, but also feed his passions. The couple began spending more time together as they grew closer, both families supporting their relationship throughout high school. Connor and Lachlan would wear couple costumes for Halloween, have three places to visit for Thanksgiving and Christmas, Valentine's Day gifts ready, and vacations already planned out. Each year on their anniversary, Lachlan would make a new song for Connor, and Connor would make an original flower arrangement for Lachlan. The couple planned their lives after high school together: Lachlan encouraged Connor to save up and eventually start his own floral shop and/or floral arrangement business, and Connor pushed Lachlan to try and get his music out there while he DJ's.

After graduating high school, Lachlan and his parents invite Connor to live with them, so he could work his first job at a boba tea place in the city in order to start saving to start up his floral business. Lachlan was able to get a prat time job at the arcade him and Cesar shared their first date at, while doing gigs on the side as a DJ. He had no financial goals since he already had everything he needed to create and get his music out there, so he was secretly saving on the side to help Cesar with his own endeavors.  

Connor and Lachlan have been together for about 5 year nows, with their young love still growing.
