Zhang Yǔchén is the reincarnation of a warrior who died to save the sun from being eaten by Jinwu. He has no memory of his past life and is unaware he is the warrior who saved the sun.
He was reborn as a heavenly monkey, who shoots fireworks affixed to arrows down from the heavens for earthly beings to see. The arrows are seen as shooting stars as they fly through the sky. When they explode, they become the stars.
He is peaceful and kind, spending much of his time alone atop the clouds. He has an unwelcoming gaze but is more than patient and understanding with earthly beings, and highly respectful to heavenly ones.
