HAIRSTYLE: Can be worn down, in a ponytail, or in a loose bun.
CLOTHING STYLE: Generally not fond of robes and the like. Has a preference for sweaters, button-ups, and jackets. Typically dresses in neutral tones.
DESIGN NOTES:
- Wears black-rimmed spectacles.
- Sometimes wears rings or very simple (leather or wood) bracelets. Never wears earrings.
- Archon mark is on the back of his neck, under his hair.

Aetheric Ink - weapon
Rather than focus his aether through any traditional medium, Ionatan instead conjures his spells with complex glyphs and runes writ on the air around him. He will say he found the technique in his studies, that it's the remnants of a lost form of spellcasting, but whether or not that’s true, only he knows.
Ionatan does not take often to combat, preferring to observe rather than intervene. It’s not because he doesn’t care in most circumstances (though that is often true), but a more practical concern: his strength lies in the immense magic power he can channel, but to do so drains him quickly. If he does not believe he can end a fight in just a few short spells, he will, unless forced, choose not to fight at all.

// Personality.
Ionatan is the opposite of a social butterfly, though the way he conducts himself in a crowd could make one think otherwise. Though he is charismatic, polite, and pleasant, he would prefer to be alone with his thoughts and research. That outgoing image he projects hides a much colder inner life; he sees little value in other people, and dislikes near anyone he meets unless they manage to leave an impression in some positive way—and his standards are quite high.

Ionatan, a peerless Archon in the field of the star's pre-Allagan history, has been part of the Sharlayan landscape as long as anyone can remember. Some joke that the Archeion was named after him, rather than the other way around; others consider it a real possibility, given the length of viera lives. Ionatan, for his part, simply isn’t telling, opting instead to brush any such questions off with a gentle laugh and a dismissive wave.
ON HIS HISTORY.
Many more years ago than one might dare imagine, on another iteration of the star entirely, he was Aion, and it was his life’s duty to Watch. He was a neutral party, as his crisp white robes would tell anyone who caught him in their peripheral—never stepping into the affairs of others unless given good cause (and very few causes did fit the criteria). Even as his world grew closer to its end, he did nothing but chronicle and carefully craft the soulstone he would cast forth in time, to be found by the shards of his future self—and find it he did, fairly early on in the new star’s history, to his relief. He has since taken many names to suit the many civilizations he’s walked through, though his most recent has been held for a fair few eras.
ON HIS STUDIES.
To the wider world, Ionatan is a scholar of the star’s pre-Allagan history, having earned his Archon mark for his vast contributions to modern understanding of multiple civilizations once thought utterly lost to time. While that is, in its own right, entirely true, his greater purpose within academia is to fill in the gaps of knowledge he lost between his sundering and his rebirth, as well as to reach out to his other shards to compile what they’ve found, if they yet live.
// Trivia.
- Aion, his namesake, is an ancient Greek legend noted as being "The god of eternity, personifying cyclical and unbounded time. Sometimes equated with Chronos."
- He would likely command power to awe even the most talented of black mages, and at a significantly lesser drain to his stamina, if he weren't too stubborn to learn to control magic in a way that suits his current body's needs, rather than trying to emulate creation magics.

BHEN'JA MINH - friends
No one would believe that Ionatan was friends with the Warrior of Light, of all people, but something about Bhen left an impression on him. Bhen, in turn, finds him to be quite trustworthy despite his cold heart, and has been known to seek his advice from time to time. Though they did know each other in their past, unsundered lives, Ionatan has as of yet left that detail unsaid. If Bhen is aware, he has said nothing.
