ABOUT
"the best way to survive is, 'always choose the winning side.'"
marceline holds an aloof exterior, usually found napping or playing games rather than working. she's earned herself a reputation as someone who won't pull her own weight, but she also doesn't seem to try to counteract the rumors. has a very sarcastic and playful demeanor and is typically very charismatic and can seemingly talk her way out of anything. she isn't very opinionated, preferring to go with what others want to do out of ease. can be bluntly honest though, not seeing the pont in sugar-coating.
despite her best attempts to keep others at arms length, she has an underlying level of softness. with her closest friends, she enjoys physical affection and shows her love by trying to make them laugh and giving the best advice she can when they're in a dark place. isn't the best with her own emotions, preferring to ignore them and focusing on the emotions of others and thinking of herself as someone who's at peace.

BACKGROUND
CHILDHOOD
marceline was raised in a bit of a rough fashion, being half draconic she was raised to be pretty cutthroat and was often treated harshly to raise her up right. she quickly learned not to be too emotional, and not to place too much trust in others. because of this, she wasn't the kindest to her peers as a child as she practiced keeping her emotions inside. this only resulted in her being a tempermental child.
ADOLESCENCE
this was her rebellious phase where she started becoming argumentive and troublesome. she bacame more confident and assured, though this manifested in her being stubborn and pursuing her wants regardless of potential consequences. she was mainly trying to force herself not to care what other people think of her, but instead she succeeded in turning herself into a bit of an outsider who people were moreso scared of than respected.
ADULTHOOD
she mellowed out quite a bit, having been humbled by the said consequences of her actions. she's been slowly learning how to be civil and have friendships, having been tamed a bit by her close friends. while she's still got a sharp tongue and a lot of sass, she keeps it teasing and overall just wants to have a good time these days. loves taking risks and rising to the challenge, pushing her boundaries is what her life is all about now!
RELATIONSHIPS
pincushion is both marcie's partner and best friend. they're practically attached at the hip, where you find marcie, pinny is likely around the corner. marcie is most comfortable with him and feels able to drop her facade and be herself without judgement. they just understand each other.

- marceline can breathe pink fire and also has a special ability where she can spit black acid. occasionally black goo dispels from her hands and feet when she wants to hang upside-down.
- like a typical cat she tends to recharge through naps or being lazy. if she doesn't get at least eight hours of sleep she's incredibly grouchy.
- marceline knows how to play the guitar! though if she's honest it's mostly for the aesthetic value, she only knows about two songs.
- marceline's bag holds her nintendo switch, her old 3ds and games, and lots of candy. most are empty, or really old. she doesn't clean out the wrappers very often.
