A cold, intelligent gaze and the aura of someone, or something, much older than his appearance suggests describe well the entity that is Abel Ballard. The people that come across him by chance or circumstance would most commonly say that he is a distant, stoic man of strict principles and a valiant heart, but those who know Abel deeper, past the surface of his skin, will know that he was not always like this and that his impassive attitude is but a front, a carefully crafted mask to hide behind that which Abel truly is - a voidsent of the 13th.
Once a feral, aether hungry monster of the void, Abel was saved by one of his own kin, Kaito, and shaped overtime into what he is today. For many, many years now, the two have traveled Eorzea under the pretense of being mere adventurers, protecting the common folk from the dangers of the world that they live in, Kaito being the blade and Abel the shield. Abel has grown and matured since the two met, but unlike Kaito who is a boundless source of optimistic energy, Abel is melancholy wrapped in a somber individual.
- Most of the time, Abel presents himself as a viera, but sometimes he takes on the form of a hyur.
- The gap between how he acts at home and how he does while he's working is huge. He's a regal, scary presence on the battlefield, but at home he wears oversized hoodies and acts like a cat.
- His eyesight is horrible and he needs his glasses to see anything. Occasionally, he wears contacts.
- His hair is naturally wavy and super soft.
Friend/lover. A complicated relationship at best, but the two rely on each other.
