Personality in a nutshell:
Daniel’s seriousness and businesslike personality is only a facade, as he is extremely bubbly, caring, protective, sweet and arguably annoying. He’s the most patient and tolerant person ever, with his friends that is, as he will not hesitate to defend anyone he cares about at the slightest hint of suspicion.

Despite his past as a policeman and detective, he is not aggressive in the slightest, despising violence and whoever that does it for harm.

Though he can be seen as overprotective and clingy at times since he worries a lot about his friends, especially if they're not in sight, as he is struggling with separation anxiety, being around people most of the time.

Fun fact, he is very aware of memes and internet culture, Quinn and Nell having a big part to it, but he just generally likes it, and he can understand what the angels and the twins are talking about against all odds.

Relationships:
The closest people to him are both Axel and Quinn & Nell, as he is very close to them but in different ways.

He sees the angels as his family, despite claiming they annoy him, he actually loves them to death, and their energy is what keeps him going most of the time.
Meanwhile, Axel is a very close friend, ever since he first saw them, he knew he wanted to get to know him and be friends, which his perseverance earned him, slowly but surely, and he's very proud of it.
He holds no grudge towards them for making him lose his career and cover, actually being thankful for all the experiences he's making him live.
Daniel is very protective of them, especially after what he has seen happen to him, and never in a million years would he ever think of leaving him behind.

Next would probably be Alan, he reminds him a lot of Axel, but a bit more chill, he wants to be friends with him, but just like his brother, he's hard to get through, and he's made it a challenge for himself to earn his trust as well.

He likes Tyree, he finds him pretty chill to hang out with when nobody is messing with him, he finds his sarcasm endearing.

Withem on the other hand makes him uneasy, despite proving himself to be a great asset and worthy of trust, but there's just something about his vibe that just feels wrong to them.
