About

Independent - Competitive - Patient - Convivial

The perfect all-rounder, a young Stig could've pursued anything he wanted. The doorways to ports, humanities & business were all at his feet and his parents had always pushed him for greatness. Unfortunately for them, all their pushing meant their son turned his back on them: choosing to persue F1 racing over law. With the money, brains & talent, Stig sky-rocketed into stardom at a young age. He'd met Jamie Redhill, his best friend and soulmate, when his family moved to the States as a child, and the two were inseparable throughout their lives. Jamie was the one with his name as Stig's emergancy contact, his next of kin and first on his will. Stig's god complex and easy-talking had soothed the two of them that this was all just precaution.. however, a near-fatal crash at 23 put a halt on his hubris. Left with decaying vision & gnarly scars, Stig must now set his priorities straight with the world.

Currently dating and living with Elliott Rivers, an entertainer and actor, and the love of his life. When the pair originally met, Stig only knew him as his best friend's thieving "ex", and knew from the get-go that he shouldn't have anything to do with him. Unfortunately for him, Elliott's mystique and beguiling ways attracted his attention quite early on. Stig was quite content with his love being unrequited.. until it wasn't!

DRIVING

Driving means everything to him. Having the independence, travelling, saving up to buy a new car he really wants, the physical act of driving.. Stig loves it all. The near-fatal crash surprisingly didn't deter him, and not being able to drive for a period of time just meant he worked on his physical rehab harder. Is very aware his disablities are getting harder manage as he's getting older though, and is secretly terrified he won't be able to drive soon.

Listening to music

Mainly Jamie's music.. but has an insane range. Music kept him grounded when he was in a very dark period, and was his first true love before he could drive. Stig can't do anything without listening to music and will get tetchy if someone else is deciding on the music...

The ocean

Reminds him of the few formative years he had in Australia, learning to surf and playing sports. Now it has different (just as important) connotations.

Dislikes

Being dependent

Can't stand leaning on anyone. His actions caused his physical state, he can handle the consequences by himself! Only 'ok' with leaning on Jamie, but still doesn't enjoy it.

Authority

The only authority figure he ever listened to was his uni lecturer, Lucas Mavalen

His disabilities

Feels his life has a distinct 'before' and 'after' the crash, but is slowly coming to terms with it. It isn't as if he doesn't enjoy his life now and seeing Jamie recover mentally from it too helps a lot.

People pitying him

The countless 'fan mail', articles and news reports that followed the crash, detailling how upsetting it was for such a 'promising young driver' to be put in such a state, drove him mad. This isn't to mention the pitying (and 'told-you-so') looks he gets from his parents whenever he sees them.

Extra

Very distant from his parents

His parents were his only immediate family, but Stig never felt connected to them. This heightens during and after the crash. He classes Jamie & Lucas as his immediate family.

Very sensitive eyes, deaf in his left ear & slight limp

All consequences of the crash. Did a lot of physical therapy to try and rectify this, but was never truly back to his original state.

Phoenix tattoo across his chest

Jamie designed this! It covers what Stig deemed as the gnarliest scar from the crash.

Water therapy

Spent a lot of time at the beach during his recovery. Water therapy helped him a lot

Elliott Rivers

Partner

After he and Jamie officially "broke up", Stig spent most of his time seeing how many MILFs he could hook up with in the various countries he was racing in. Trying to get lonely wives to cheat on their rich husbands with the new, up and coming rookie (whom their husbands were sponsoring & very friendly with) became such a fun game to him that any serious romance was out of the window. Then the accident happened. And romance was so far out the window that even just hooking up wasn't something he wanted for years. But, as he entered his late twenties, he started to back into the swing of his old body again, just perhaps without the risk of ruining his team's sponsorships. He didn't want anything serious and he especially didn't want anything long-term. Fast forward to May 2021. The pair officially met on a camping they were both invited to via Jamie and Dom respectively. He thought he was pretty, sure, but nothing much more than eye candy, and was already well aware of the whole situationship he and Jamie had been in before. He found it amusing, if anything, that this rat had made his way back into their lives again and made sure his guard was fully up whenever he was near either himself or Jamie. However, time went on, and the four starting hanging out together a lot meant he and Elliott were forced to interact more than Stig would've perhaps liked. He started seeing different sides of him, especially when the two were alone. Having Elliott in his passenger seat meant neither of the two had the nagging fear at the back of their minds that he and Jamie couldn't help but share when he drove fast. Elliott was a fresh start: someone who didn't know him before, who didn't suddenly pity him, and someone who would speak his mind. He was refreshing and fun and let Stig feel the childhood desire of freedom he felt he'd lost all those years ago. They were competitive rivals together, each somehow bettering each other by giving stupid dares and funny pranks. Live fast, die young; a sentiment they both share. Jamie saved his life, no doubt about that, but Elliott ignited the flame for living again. However, there is a nagging guilt at the back of his mind and in the pit of his stomach when he thinks too deeply about Elliott. Stig isn't stupid, he's well aware he's fallen in love with a man who not only hurt Jamie in the past, but also continues to hook up with people for selfish gain. Part of him wonders if Elliott is sticking around for what little fortune Stig has left from his career, but he tries not to think too hard about that. What scares him and perhaps grounds him the most is his firm belief in the fact Elliott will never love him back. Not truly. Not ever. And, from that belief he takes a strange comfort, because, he can't have a future together with the selfish man who stole Jamie's money and tried to get into his now-boyfriend's pants if said man doesn't love him back. He can continue loving him all he wants: he doesn't have to face any consequences if he doesn't love him back.

Jamie Redhill

Best Friend / Soulmate

Stevie and Jamie have known each other since they were kids. Having gone to the same Primary school, outgoing Stevie quickly became introverted Jamie's saving grace. For a long time, he was his protector and his only friend. The pair always stood up for each other, Stevie ready to shout a mean group of kids down using his 'eloquent' vocabulary and Jamie willing to knock someone's tooth out for looking at Stevie wrong. Jamie can't deny that he was a well-mannered kid, a goody-goody who always listened to his teachers, but having his wild best friend around meant that a lot of the awful gifted kid side-effects failed to take hold. They did what they wanted, and they did it together. Stevie always pushed Jamie to stand up for himself and to keep his passion for singing alive, and Jamie made sure that Stevie prioritised his love for driving - they both regularly entered competitions and took opportunities on the guidance of the other. They supported each other at every turn. By the time they were old enough to be romantically involved, they were. Their sweet, young relationship lasted a good 3 years, with Stevie being Jamie's first in everything and that sacred trust only going stronger. They only broke it off at around 19 years old when they realised that being in a relationship wasn't changing anything, and that their bond went way deeper than just 'my boyfriend'. However, they did make a pact that if they weren't in a relationship by 30, that they would say fuck it and marry each other for fun. Stevie knew he'd never live his life without Jamie, whether or not they had other romantic interests, and well aware Jamie would always be his top priority, platonic or otherwise. As young adults, both Stevie and Jamie's careers took off in a big way, Stevie earning the nickname Stig and getting into the F1 championships as one of their youngest drivers and Jamie's band, Hellcat, headlining and touring all across America. All that support from each other had clearly paid off, and they made sure to plan every performance around the other one's previous commitments. It wasn't that Stevie ignored Jamie's side 'jokes' about the whole thing being too good to be true, but he never took them seriously. He saw himself as invincible and, with that invincibility, he could protect Jamie. But Jamie was right. Stevie's unexpected and near-fatal crash shook them both to the core. It was a freak accident. Stevie was in a coma for a 3 months solid, needing regular, intensive surgery that used up a lot of his money and, due to Stevie's rocky relationship with his parents, all fell to Jamie to approve. After 2 months, the doctors came to Jamie and asked if he wanted to pull the life support, since they were 99% certain that he would never wake up. Jamie said no, even when everything logical in his mind said yes. And a month later, by some miracle, Stevie opened his eyes. With their lives turned upside down, Stevie's body broken beyond full repair and his eyesight and hearing permanently impacted, things looked pretty bleak; his once fiercely optimistic and ready to take on the world best friend was reduced to a husk of his former self, and it was his duty to bring him back. Again, a lot has happened since the crash 9 years ago, but they're back at it and stronger than ever now. The additions of Dom and Elliott into their lives are welcome ones, and the four do a lot of bonding and begrudging work together. Stevie would do anything for Jamie, and feels as though he owes him his life. He'll put his foot down as his life-long protector and first-in-command if anyone tries to take that place, and wouldn't hesitate to get in a fight with a guy double his size if necessary (aka Jamie's future husband).

Lucas Mavalen

Role model / Mentor

Stevie met Lucas as his student in the law university course his parents put him at 18. At first Stevie treated him as any other authority figure he'd ever had.. terribly. But, gradually, with all the attendance emails, after session chats and extended time requests for assigments, Stevie realised Lucas understood better than his own parents ever did. He ended up confiding in him his true dreams and aspirations (to drive for F1), and Lucas took him seriously and advised him wherever he could. He sensed a great sadness in Lucas, and enjoyed the long evenings joking around and trying to take his mind off whatever he assumed was bothering him. When Stevie decided to drop out, Lucas was the first person he told and made doubly sure that the two could keep in touch even after he left. He still does contact him as much as he can. Over the years, he's invited him to many a Christmas and social events (most of which Lucas has politely declined), simply as an excuse to see him again and catch up. Lucas was the only one who understood when Jamie didn't want to leave Stevie's hospital room, and instead, offered him the small reprieve of sleep on the armchair next to it, while he watched over the comatosed Stevie. Stevie feels as though he owes him a lot, without Lucas making him feel indebted. He's very grateful to have him in his life. (TBA)

Dominic Westmann

Friend

It wasn't that he was sceptical of Dom, more that he was confused as to how Jamie was falling for him. He was, in the most accurate and eloquent words Stig could find, a brick. It was like talking a wall.. a really beefy.. tall, large wall. The man hardly said a word and, when he did, there was never any emotion behind it. He'd met Dom before the four of them went on the camping trip, but only in brief and small periods of time. In hindsight, that's probably why he had such a lacklustre opinion of him. As the group started to hang out more, Stig tried harder to break down Dom's barriers that clearly only Jamie had managed to get through. The more he did so, however, the more he felt he was taking the role of the nosey parent trying to get to know their future son-in-law than just the protective best friend. He made a mental note to himself to step off him, and that was, ironically, when he started to get to know Dom a little better. As they usually hung out at Dom's big house on the farm, Dom slowly started letting Stig poke around with his old sound system and, together, the pair got it to work properly again. That meant Stig bringing round hauls of CDs and cassette just so they could blast the speakers without having neighbours to worry about. Much to Stig's surprise, Jamie said Dom was actually enjoying the evenings the four of them spent, drinking, talking, listening to music. Stig would also like to take the credit for Dom trying his first "girly" drink (a fruity cocktail Stig made them all), and unlocking the side of "cocktail-drunk Dom" who just spent most of the evening telling campfire stories from his childhood. More seriously though, Stig appreciates his grounded, down-to-earth view on things. First-aid trained and used to side effects from injuries, he can easily tell when Stig's body has decided enough's enough and he, while he hates it at the time, is grateful later when Dom's told him to stop doing something. Overall, Stig just wanted to make sure whoever Jamie was dating would be treating him right, he didn't actually expect to make a friend in the process (as long as Dom knows no one will ever love Jamie as much as Stig).
