Morgana

As a child, Morgana found an unusal spider in the farmlands around her home. She immediataely tried to pet it, and it bit her. More out of annoyance than anything, she smacked it and promptly ate it.

She showed no symptoms from the spider bite apart from the small mark it left, and the fact she was unusually strong for a 3 year old. Her parents put this down to her living most of her life outside on the farm.

Several years later, when she was 10 years old, the haybarn caught fire and set fire to the farmhouse too. In the hot weather with everything crisp and dry, the flames were unstoppable. By now, she had made a kind of web fluid based on the ones she had heard about through stories, and her father had helped her with it. This was the only thing that saved her from the fire, for she managed to swing out through a window. Badly burned and hospitalised for a few months on and off, in which her hand had to be amputated because it was only getting worse. Butshe was alive.

Her mother was lost in the blaze.

She and her father moved to a flat in a town. Morgana was never quite the same, but he paid it no mind because he assumed it was grief. Here for the first time she tried school, hated it and never went back. Her father taught her until he died six years later.

In that time she made herself the Cryptid outfit and perfected the webs, along with in secret practicing controlling the "goop", as she liked to call it. A kind of dark goop that she could call on from within herself and make it do her bidding.

She still lives in the same flat, which is now filled with books of Welsh history. Occasionally her friend, Pwyll, comes over to help her study and to tell her about the ventures he's been on. At night, and sometimes in the day, she will go out as Cryptid to protect the innocent from muggers and burglers.
