Design Notes

Physical Appearance:

  • Dark brown skin
  • Dark brown monolid eyes with blue-rimmed glasses
  • Soft, oval-shaped face
  • Nose is very flat and fairly small
  • Really short (5'0")
  • Pear-shaped (small shoulders/chest but big hips/thighs)
  • Black hair with dense corkscrew coils (Type 4A)
    • Usually wears it with some kind of bow/flower clip/headband to match her outfit

Clothing Preferences:

  • Often wears sweet lolita styles (or casual variants thereof)
    • Lolita fashion, not the somewhat unfortunate alternate meaning of that word
  • Cutesy, frilly outfits
    • Almost always with a matching hair accessory, and sometimes with matching bracelets, necklaces, and/or earrings as well
  • Often pulls inspiration from magical girl anime or Alice in Wonderland
  • Mostly various combinations of blue, white, black, and purple
  • Also likes cat motifs
  • Cosplay: Any magical girl anime, especially Madoka Magica or Cardcaptor Sakura
  • Pajamas: Camis and undies, cutesy like the rest of her clothes

Character Notes

History:

  • Worked at Dunkin Donuts throughout high school and college, but eventually gets a job at a local coffee shop instead
  • Bachelor's in Communication w/ Minor in Theater (from RI College)
  • Got kicked out of Catholic school in 9th grade by setting the chapel on fire
    • The school treated her very badly; transferring to public school was a huge relief for her
  • She tends to hold the way the school mistreated her against both her parents and the entire concept of religion (especially Christianity, but she's wary of all religions)
    • Both her therapist and Ash are helping her get past that so she can reconnect with her family and make peace with religion
    • As she works through her badfeels surrounding religion, she's taken an interest in learning about Shinto

Fun Facts:

  • Can be drawn with the Systemfluid, Queer Chevron, Polyam (tricolor/gold heart), and Bi pride flags
  • Studied theater in hopes of being a voice actress, but many years later she is... still a barista. She is not thrilled about this fact.
  • Loves cute, sweet snacks like cake pops and pocky
  • She thinks she can kick your butt, but she almost certainly cannot
  • She's extremely mentally ill (bipolar, histrionic personality disorder, and alcoholism) and Doing Her Best
  • Very prone to holding grudges!! Something she's working on in therapy.
  • Gets really competitive about playing cards (poker, spades, Pokémon, Yu-Gi-Oh, MTG, you name it!)
  • Occasionally makes song parodies or covers and accompanying music videos with her friends

Indie

Indie is Mo's only known headmate!

  • Full name is Individuality, but basically everyone who knows it calls it Indie
  • they/it
  • Can be drawn with the following pride flags: Egogender, Nonbinary, Aromantic (green/yellow/orange/black), Pan, Systemfluid, Queer Chevron
  • A shapeshifting "Spirit of Individuality" (obviously can only shapeshift in headspace)
  • Melodramatic middle-aged theater gay energy
  • Very encouraging and nurturing
  • Powered by spite almost as much as Mo herself is, but is gentler and more subtle about it
