Caïn

You know that really edgy, really gritty OC you made when you were thirteen, fourteen at most, who did all the terrible things you wanted to do but were not allowed? Who was really badass but also kind of a shitty person, and not a particularly good character? That OC that you still really like even though they are objectively kind of embarassing?

Loud, vulgar, sarcastic, biting and provocative, quick to piss people off, Caïn is pretty much the epitome of "that kid your parents warned you about". Curses a lot, laughs just as much. He's pretty okay to hang out with if you're not easily provoked, though, and proves to be quite friendly and outgoing once you look past the attitude. Smart kid, but lacks any kind of formal education beyond primary school, and has no interest in catching up.

While not actively destructive, he will usually put his needs in first place and not care much about the consequences for others. Very independant and self-sufficient, doesn't trust anyone with anything if there's a way for him to do it himself. Selfish.

Short and wiry, slightly underweight but with lean muscle that comes from working a plethora of random, mostly physical jobs. Bit of a worker's tan. Has a lot of odd scars from doing stupid shit.

Light gray eyes, thin, cracked/bitten lips and yellow uneven teeth, child-like button nose. Short black hair shaved into a messy mohawk, sometimes dyed green or grey. Pierced tongue, right brow, and ears in various constelations. Might also have the odd surface piercing now and then.

Wears old, ratty clothes with holes in them. Jeans and tank tops in summer, jeans and hoodies in winter. Boots or sneakers.

Runs around with random bruises more often than not.

• Only child. Born in the poor parts of the city to an overworked, soft-spoken and melancholic mother and a father who disappeared shortly after his birth to "make fortune". Hasn't heard of him since.
• Learned to deal with the world at a very early age. Was introduced to smoking, drinking, weed and sex, as well as the occasional prostitution to get the money for said occupations. Spent very little time at home or in school.
• Met Gabriel while drunk off his ass in a bar. They talked for a long time and ended up hooked up, and Gabriel's apparent genuine interest for Alex quickly drew him in. He was 17 at the time, and Gabriel around 25. They had a very intense relationship for about two years, and Gabriel introduced Alex to harder drugs, encouraged him to make money through sex, as well as crime of varying degrees.
• Until one day Gabriel just up and disappeared, leaving his house empty save for the furniture and a few random items. Alex was 19. His's life spiraled out of control from there. His drug addiction got out of hand, his drinking and smoking and sex life consumed everything and he lost a lot of weight until one day he overdosed really bad. And then again shortly after he was let out of the hospital.
• At this point his mother put him in rehab (with pressure from several nurses and a doctor) where he stayed for about a year. When he was released he packed what was left of his stuff, said goodbye to his mother and moved to another country. He hasn't talked to her since.
• He started introducing himself as 'Caïn' and tried to make a new life. He works random small jobs where he can and falls back on prostitution when he's short on money, hasn't touched anything addictive except coffee in years, still gets into bar fights for the kicks.

• Left Handed.
• Bites his nails.
• Restless sleeper, gets nightmares a lot.
• Bunch of piercings all over the place. Honestly, they move a lot between his various artworks and I'm fine with that. Give him tunnels, give him whatever, it's all likely anyway.
• Gets an angel tattooed on his back at some point.
