introduction.

jasper is a guiding NPC in the selkatar campaign, after he's rescued from a pack of wolves by the party, he decides to recruit them to help him return the artifacts from the kingdom to the castle in order to appease selkatar's god and stop the storms they're causing - he wouldn't ever tell them, but he grows attached to the party and sees them as family. he used to be a vigilante but stopped working due to the guilt of killing others, now he lives in lazgar's tavern, she's sort of a mother figure to him

jasper is a pessimstic, grumpy character, he has no patience for people who gets on his nerves. he tends to hide this when he's trying to get his own way, but overall he puts on a cold uncaring persona. despite this, he cares a lot about those around him in his own way. he has a soft spot for children, and can't make himself treat them as harshly as he would treat most strangers - when he was younger he was more carefree and even naive, but years later he tends to assume that everybody has the worst possible intentions and can't trust them easily - he wants to be able to protect others from ending up like him. once he decides that he wants to do something, he is ridiculously stubborn and will stop at nothing to finish it, which can be helpful but also causes him problems a lot, especially when other people are involved. generally the best way he can be described is a self destructive grumpy old man who pretends to hate everybody he cares about. thank you for listening to my TED talk

design notes.

• he has entirely black eyes, eyebags and a broken horn. his face is also noticeably aged from stress (i tend to draw him with frown lines)
• body type is average
• his scars are very significant especially the ones on his face
  • he has a lichtenberg scar that trails along his spine, one side of his waist and neck, leading up his cheek
• his jewellery is important, the ring on his intact horn has some writing in selkatarian (the local script) and he has a decoration at the tip of it - his ears are stretched and he wears two earrings on one ear
  • he can wear anything that fits a medieval fantasy setting, or anything with greek influences since his kingdom is based on ancient greece
