Calé

Calé is the son of a revered- almost worshiped- magus. Naturally, he has a lot to prove in avoiding being the shadow of his magus parent, and isn't the best at hiding his intentions or emotions, though he tries through being overly cocky without bringing up his background.
He does indeed wield his power efficiently, and compared to most other mages he is considered great, but when compared to his parent, he is serviceable at best... He knows this and takes it personally every time he makes mistakes or does not learn the oddest spells quickly enough.

He can take multiple forms through his illusion magic, though to call his shifting an illusion is incorrect, as his genetics truly change with the power he utilizes. He also is capable of changing simple things about his appearance, such as his hair color and eye colors (and will often pick one color over the other depending on his mood).
Though he can handle extremely dangerous dark magic, it often scares him to mess with it, and will do his best to avoid those who seem interested in these powers... None of this would be couth to admit aloud, of course.

Most interestingly, though he is a competitive and brash Elf magus, he cares little about the magic he can wield and prefers to continue his work because of the incredible wealth it brings. The positive attention is a plus, he can't deny that.
